So I've had them in my youth as well as shingles so my son has just developed them. I've spoken to ANDU and they seem ok unless I start getting spots to then go to a@e. Has anyone else experinced this during pregnancy? X

Just seen a thread on this in the chat section. My niece and nephew live abroad and I saw them on Saturday but they've been exposed to chicken pox and likely to have / get it - what I've only just appreciated is that you're contagious 2 weeks before spots develop apparently.

I looked up the NHS website and as I've had them already I should be okay:

Must be going around! MaryPoppins daughter (September mummies tri 2 currently has them).
I work in a primary school and we had an outbreak of chicken pox when I was about 15wks. Even though my mum told me I had them when I was about 2 I was worried as I've heard people can get a second round. My doctor was amazing and said that even a second round (shingles version) wouldn't hurt baby - but seeing as there was no record of me having had chicken pox in childhood (I've moved house/doctors a lot) she sent me for a next day blood test to check my immunity and check my anti-bodies were still active. Fortunately they were. I continued to go to work and all fine. Why don't you ask your gp for the blood test - it will put your mind at ease xxx

My lo had them A couple of weeks ago
It didn't effect me at all hun
Any worries go get checked straight away x

We did summer... And sadly today 2 of the children I look after both came down with it! I phoned for advise and was just told to be extra vigilent for signs of it myself, but seem to be fine. Fingers crossed for you, am sure it will be fine especially this far on, just keep an eye on yourself xx

We had them in school a few weeks ago so I had to go for the blood test. It showed that I wasn't immune so had to have an injection of antibodies to try to build up my immunity. Been fine though :)

My bestie had shingles when oregannt with her son. Mum and baby fine x

Thanks everyone for the info. I'm sure all will be ok as I have had both pox and shingles. I have woken up with a rumble in my chest which is a bit dodgy so I'm assuming it's a chest infection. Not overly panicking however this was a problem with toxoplasmosis. I will call my gp later as she may want to hear my chest again. It's where the parasite lives, well that and the brain believe it or not. X
