Slightly peed off as have a lovely chest infection (3rd cold in about 6 weeks *sigh*). Do you reckon it will effect the baby or will I be better off seeing if it will go away? I think it might be clearing slightly, but I'm feeling shattered all the time and I've pulled muscles from all the coughing. Just read a scary article online that said if pregnant women take anti-biotics and have a history of allergy then their babies are more likely to develop it, and it increases with every batch you take (I am taking acidophillos anyway). I've already taken one batch for a uti, but I'm not sure you can take chances with uti's and chest infections, especially as I'm asthmatic. Thank youuuuuu!

hello,
ah i hope yur feeling better soon honey!
i had a chest infection a couple of monthes ago and went to see GP he said it wouldnt harm the baby but gave me some amoxcillin anyway to clear it up!!
Hope your feeling better soon!

Awwwwwwwww thanks for that! I'll probably go to the drs tommorrow - hope you feel loads better soon too

I think you should see your doctor. You don't have to take the anti-biotics if you don't want to. How's your asthma though?

Hope you feel better soon. It is probably best to see the doctor, I am sure he won't prescribe anything that is harmful to the baby.

Awwwwwwww thanks all of you! I'm probably just worrying about nothing with the allergies thing, BUT my whole family has been on to my mum about how awful it would be if my baby was born with eczema etc. No one has said anything to my face though *sigh* which just makes it even more stressful... Realistically speaking baby needs my blood to be oxygenated so going to the drs makes sense. Thanks again, really appreciated

like everyone else id say just see the doctor and see what he says.

hope you're feeling better soon tho

Thanks again all of you     I'm just back from the drs, who couldn't actually hear anything on my chest which is good, so it's obviously just in my bronchials. LucyBee it has effected my asthma slightly (and I still feel so sorry for you having had that horrible episode a week back  ) but since I've upped my seretide it seems to be improving ad my cough is much more *ahem* productive :puke: He couldn't see any signs of infection which was great and tbh I am feeling better today, so thanks again for all your support      Baby is kicking up a storm so I feel quite happy :cheer:

Glad your feeling happier today sweetheart....colds and coughs are miserable!

Glad you're feeling better today ginger.
Seretide is the best invention ever isn't it?!
Look after yourself!

i have just finished a weeks course of steroids for a viral chest infection and now developed sinisitus so am on amoxycillan :? i have also been taking my inhaler (ventolin) loads, Dr has assured me all is safe for the baby and these are all drugs they would actually give to newborn babies anyway. if i din't have this reassurance i wouldn't have taken any of it, so you are fine.

glad you feeling better gingerpig
