Changing unit/ dressers

Hi

I would like to get a 4/5 draw dresser with a changing bit on top.

Can anyone recomend a decent cheap one? It is really p*ssing me off that a normal dresser from mfi/ ikea is £50-90, but oh as soon as you add a changing bit and call it 'nursery' furniture, that'll be £200!

We got a nice 3 draw one from Ikea with shelving unit above it so plenty of storage etc. We also have a seperate chest of draws in the nursery though. Another idea is to have a regular set of draws and buy a simple over the cot changer, you can take it off, put it on etc, it just sits over the bars of the cot type thing and saves the expensce of specialist furniture. Just another idea to consider. I know not everyone has the space for a change station plus draws and wardrobes etc.

we are just using a normal chest of drawers and putting the change mat on top of it with a peice of non-slip mateial underneath it so it won't slide around. We have one of the heavy duty wedge shaped change mats from mother care, which have high sides.

I looked at the cot top things and to be honest they do not look like they offer anything to prevent baby from rolling off, the sides are not high at all and you will only use it for a few months as once baby can turn etc... most people just change them on the floor as it is safer (or so I am told)

These are what I was on about....I know it's Mamas & Papas thus expensive but you can get them anywhere from Argos, Ikea, Mothercare etc.

I've been told this too...once baby is a wiggling, rolling worm he'll be getting changed on the changing mat - on the floor!! Thus he can't fall anywhere then!!

a nice squishy mat on the floor is better imo, u have evrythin to hand around u and no worryin about babba fallin off *shudders at the thought*

I change Dylan on the floor or on our bed . I really don't go in his nursey to change him its easier to bring the stuff to where we are. I am glad i didn't buy one
