Changing to follow on milk

Sam is 6 months this week, do you have to change to follow on milk?
He is currrently having Cow and Gate hungry baby milk, whats the difference if i change to follow on milk?

Follow on milk has different nutrients that a baby over 6 months requires (apparently). My LO is happy on first milk and has a balanced diet which will be more varied when she hits 6 months so we have no plans to change.

i asked my hv about this and she sed there is no reason to change and that its all just a money makin thing. if ur baby is gettina balanced diet then theres no reason to change their milk. xx

My HV said I was to change!!! We're on C&G comfort 1 (thats probably the reason) and she said they need more iron when they get to 6 months cus their supplies from birth run out.

He has 3 small meals aday as well usually fresh sometime the odd jar....

I will change cus he doesnt need somfort milk anymore
