cervix positions (tmi)

well AF is late

so i thought to to check my cervix to see if its on his way.

only thing is dnt know wot im supposed to be feeling. its very wet in there (it says its supposed to be dry when AF is due) i feel a lot of things on the sides but if i push my fingers right up i cant feel anything almost like an empty space.

any ideas or tips be very gratefully recieved

Isnt it amazing what this TTC does to us - did you ever think that would be something you would discuss with complete strangers

Know what you mean though - I feel all swollen down there and can only just feel the tip of my cervix which is soft and also feels swollen.........

Hi jem

I've often wondered about my cervix too. From what i've read if you're pregnant then your cervix is soft, closed and high. It closes up to stop any infection from reaching the fertilized egg and to stop from any miscarriage. It lowers and opens to discharge a period.

Apparently it should feel like the tip of your nose. Finding it is tricky for a lot of women. Plus i also read that it should have a blueish tint and when drs examine you they look for this sign too... some women also have a blueish tinge on their vaginas when pregnant.

I dont think in early pregnancy you can tell if you are pregnant by feeling your cervix, cant find a link to this but might be worth looking it up x x x

Hey Jemz,

Cervix positions are very unreliable. Low and open is supposed to be just before you come on but it can happen very suddeny. I haven't seen you around for a bit but have been wondering how you have been getting on. Hope you can join us very soon in first tri. When are you testing?

Sorry to butt in but I am fasinated!!

It will sound daft Im sure as Im on my third pregnancy! I really never realised how many different signs there were that you could be pregnant. I just assumed that missing a period was the first sign of pregnancy...

i was checkin to see if it had fallen since ovulation and it hasnt. its very soft and wet so hopin its a good sign.

yer ive kinda been lurkin and not thinkin about ttc. however yes im a few days late (agen) im testin monday or tuesday. ive also had a letter off the hospital they are ready for me to have a scan booked so will let you kno soon enuff. pray for bfp plzzzzzzzz

for your bfp

cp can be unreliable as a sign of a bfp - monster munch carried on checking when she got a bfp to see and it altered a lot - it's not as reliable as using it for an ov sign.

just too clear this up but ppl seem to think im only using this method lol...no i was interested. iwas havin symptoms but today it feels like af will show any minute. i kno u cant use CP for confirmation.

but monster munch did it as an experiment as we were wondering the same thing - so she kept checking for about the first 2 weeks after her bfp

Hey I put a post up about cervix position last week, mines been high closed and v soft for over a week( never felt like this before ) my fiance says lol and hey he should know! but I got my faint BFP on friday testing again on monday to make me believe it, but I'll let you know how it feels for the next few weeks.
I read that dr's used it as a sign of pregnancy before HPT's
