Hi Guys

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and have my first booking appointment with the midwife which is exciting and scary all the same time! I'm 35 tomorrow as well so as well as being a bit closer to 40 I'm also worrying about Downs Syndrome etc.

But my question is (and I'm sorry to be graphic), my cervix - which I can usually feel seems to have totally disppeared. I'm assuming it's gone very high - is this a good sign? Does anyone else know? Also my vagina seems very tight and hard all around.....

(again sorry for being graphic!!!) but as another site poster put it "you leave your dignity by the door when you get preggers"....

Hiya Shaz

Cervical position in pregnancy can vary, but most women will notice that the cervix will rise a bit and become softer. However the timing of this happening will vary from woman to woman. For some, this will happen shortly before their period is due, but for other, this will not happen until quite a while after their pregnancy has been confirmed.

..You think your dignity id disappearing now? - Wait till labour! lol

Wishing you a happy and healty pregnancy!
