is anyone using these birth control pills... aparently they are the only onesi can take due to high blood pressure... the only problem is i have now been on my period forr 8 weeks striaght.. think thatswhy i am feeling depressed and run down..... my only other option is the coil but i don't fancy that at all... anyone else having trouble with their periodswhile taking this pill

Im on cerazette and never had any problems on them.

I hope you can sort something out

I'm on them, and despite a drop in sex drive and an increase in boob milk, I've not had any other issues...I've not even had a period yet and the doc said with these pills its unlikely. Hope you get better soon...

Im on these also and my periods have become very irregular. Sometimes I bleed for weeks on end, then dont have a period for ages... its a total pain really, but I started taking them because i was breastfeeding and they were the only ones my doctor recommended. Hope it gets better for you soon!

I had a period, then nothing for 6 weeks then bled for over a month. Went to my GP and she said often with Cerazette it's all or nothing - you either don't bleed at all or constantly. I've been off it a week now and that's things starting to settle down now - won't be taking it again!

if u are not planning on taking it again.. what other options are available to you in terms of birth controllll?

I'm trying to lose weight so decided against taking the pill for a while and hopefully will go back on the combined pill at some point. She did say there are several other types of progesterone only pill but that the same thing was likely to happen again. Other options were the implant or IUD (not mirena) but not sure how that would affect BP. MIght be worth speaking to your GP about something other than Cerazette?

ive just started takin this as microgynon made me feel pregnant - sick!!!

i hope i dont have any problems with these, i hate irregular periods - such a pain

im not planning on taking them for too long anyway as we want another one quite soon

I took cerazette a couple of years ago for about 2 months and I bled the whole time I was on it.

Im on it and glad i read this post, i didnt know you could bleed for 4 wks + on these pills. I changed as i get really bad headaches so doc swapped the pill to see if it helped. Also i use to have to take 3 packs of the normal pill with no break as i get really bad periods, and use to be in bed for the week after coz i was so washed out after a period, so the doc told me to try these as i might not get a periiod. Ive been on cerazette for about 6 weeks and so far havent had a period.

I personally found cerazette troublesome for a number of reasons.

It completely stopped my periods which is a blessing in a way but also means that I had a constant fear I might be pregnant. The only way of getting around this was to take a pregnancy test, which IMHO is a waste of money.
I just don't think not having periods could be particularly healthy for your body. Then again I am currently having a healthy pregnancy, so who knows.

The reason I went on this pill is because I get migraines meaning I am more at risk of various health problems and this pill is meant to be safe. I was on this pill and had a stroke, and the doctors said one of the contributing factors could be the fact I was on the pill.

I would think seriously before going on this pill and discuss the health risks of this pill with your doctor. My experience might just be unlucky and I don't want to scare you
