can someone give me an idea of how many to get?

we are planning on swaddling and then moving to grow bags later. Also baby is due in July so might use them as a pram blanket if needed on a cold day.

I have read about 4 might be enough, can everyone let me know how many they have and if it is enough.

I would think 4 would be enough!? I really cant remember how many I had with mine sorry but I would think 4 would be enough! :D

The only the problem we found with celluar blankets was that they were eigher too big to swaddle newborn in or his fingers would get caught in the holes. We tended to keep them for the pram if we went out rto use as a blanket or to roll and place either side of him in the moses basket so he was kept on his back. We swaddled charlie in small cotton sheets which were light enough so he didnt sweat and easy to was and dry quickly as he was either soaked from a leaky nappy or from being sick (he was a reflux baby).
Gro bags were a god send!!!! We've only just moved him to a duvet and he is fine and doesnt get his legs stuck in the cot bars now he is bigger as well.

I saw in Toys rus that Grobag do a swaddling gro bag, don't know if anyone used it but that may be better than celluar blankets

You'll never need to put more than 4 on a baby so 4 would be plenty unless you want a change  Can't comment on the swaddling as never did it, Isaac wasn't a fan

We used moses basket blankets/sheets for swaddling Ryan as they were just the right size :) when he got too big for them he'd given up on swaddling so it worked out ok to us just to use the moses basket stuff we'd been given already, don't think we bought any new stuff.
