I know its not ideal to have cats around babies but do any of you do and if so how do you keep it from getting in the room with the baby etc??

I've not got any pet, but you can buy tall baby gates to stop pets getting through, they sell them in babies are us. They are quite dear nearly 50 pounds, BABYDAN XL PREMIER PRESSURE GATE. I think they have sold out but check ebay. x

I had a cat with both my newborns (different cats) & they didn't really bother with LO's tbh, they would go & have a sniff then go & lie down, both the cats seemed a bit un-settled with the baby's arms moving around & didn't really wana be around LO's because of that. Only prob I found was cats climing into the baby stuff & sleeping & getting hairs/germs everywhere, we'd have to cover things or turn them upside down.

Yeah my cat has had a wee on one of the bouncers was so angry! Have to keep like a folded up blanket on it and In pram, she seems to only want to sit in there when they are empty! Because you wouldn't be leaving them alone im not worried about the cat 'doing' anything to baba. Each cat is dif I guess. I would say mesh door covers / Moses basket drapes are better for cats as they could find a way to jump over any gate

I have a cat & 2 dogs. The dogs have only started being interested causes she's eating now. My cat very rarely has anything to do with her, I often catch him sleeping on her changing table but it is in a sunny spot. I just tell him off and put him down but don't worry too much as its wipe clean.
When we first got the moses basket out he would sleep in it now and again but I put a net over it for a couple of weeks and he never slept in it again until it was on its side in the spare room ready to be wrapped & stuck in the loft.

My mums cat always comes to see her but gets her ears pulled for the privilege so never stays long lol

I have a cat and a dog - the cat ignores the LO whenever possible and runs for the hills if she crawls near her . She doesn't like getting her fur twisted.
