Hi ho everyone

I just carried a big tin of Dulux from the shop back to my work, and I have got myself a bit worried because I feel like it's strained me inside - had a quick google of it and it seems to suggest that the only concern of lifting heavy things when preggers is you're more likely to hurt your back, and it will not cause miscarriage, but wondered if anyone here had any pearls of wisdom to stop me worrying.:oooo:

don't worry, I'm sure the tin couldn't be so big to cause you any harm but try not to lift heavy things(I mean really heavy) from now on coz this can cause hernia wich is not something to wish during pregnancy
You should worry only if you would have severe, sharp pain but I think you will be fine

Take care!

I know how scary it is...I daren't even flip the sofa cushions these days!!

I am not sure about the risks involved with heavy lifting apart from it just seeming like common sense. I would imagine they did mean very heavy things as well.

Relax all your muscles and if there is no pain, you should be ok methinks! x

I try not to do any heavy lifting, good excuse as to why I can't Hoover upstairs but I think it's more because it can hurt you due to ligaments being softer so you can pull a muscle alot easier!

you should generally be okay with lifting the same weight you could comfortably lift regularly before pregnancy. So if you're attempting to carry something that is heavier than what you were used to carrying, it is a risk.

I went hay carting at 4 / 5 months pregnant :whistle: . Well someone had to do it, so i had hay for the winter. :oooo:

i woudlnt worry hun! first time i wouldnt lift anything at all, but second time i didnt really have much choice! i used to think, well is this heavier than my 1 year old?! and she was a right tubby get and i had to carry her everywhere, so there wasnt much i actually couldnt lift!
