We cut Connie's nails earlier. I was giving her a bottle while DH cut them and he cut the top of her finger :( (I will do the cutting next time  ). I've put a scratch mit on it but it won't stop bleeding and she keeps putting it in her mouth which is not helping, it's been bleeding for nearly 2 hours now. Can I use a plaster then put the scratch mit over that? The mit is now very bloody :( . I only want to put the plaster on until the bleeding stops then let the air get to it.

I would think you could use a plaster for a short time. Chloe went for her third set of injections on Wednesday and the nurse put a plaster over as she started bleeding a little and told me to take it off after a couple of hours.

The nurse put a plaster on her leg at her most recent injections but I didn't know if it was a special baby plaster  . I assume not. She's gone to sleep now so going to take the mit off and air it.

Ive done that twice

Anyway i put a plaster on it but just be careful she doesnt put the plaster in her mouth and it comes off.

i think a plaster would be fine. they put the weirdest girly looking ones on her legs after she got her shots, so i dont think they were any special kind.
though i would keep an eye on the bleeding!!! its not so good if it wont stop, so if it doesnt after a while perhaps call the doctor or something.

Panic over. It kept bleeding as she kept grabbing things and sticking her fingers in her mouth :wall: . The scratch mit was covered in blood :( . I couldn't get a proper look at it and was worrying it was really bad but it's only a nick, from the amount of blood you'd have thought he'd chopped the whole top of her finger off  . Must get a proper first aid box in the house I think.

Poor DH felt soooo guilty and she kept looking at him without smiling  . He even rang from work on his break for a finger update :) .

Don't worry it will just be the saliva that makes it bleed loads... Mouth wounds always look like a massacre when its just a little nick. Pop an ordinary plaster on.. Don't worry about it... Some people are allergic to plasters but not many :) The best thing to get is some micropore and some cotton... dab the cotton on to the micropore so some sticks to it.. then put the cotton bit over the cut and wrap the micropore round... micropore seems to survive better with wet and spit than plasters

no help at all but awww at the thought of an ickle plaster on her ickle finger.

A similar thing happened to us, I put a bit of tissue on the cut (like you would a shaving cut) and that stopped the bleeding and it went so hard it was impossible to LO to remove it. We later soaked it off in the bath.

I would just watch out for any reactions her skin may have to a plaster, i know that my skin goes red and blotchy if i use a certain kind of plaster. I'm sure it'll be fine though, like others have said they stick stuff on them when they have thier jabs.

I doubt she even knows it' there lol, just a big shock for yo uand your DH, i wont let Dave cut her nails anymore cos he's too cautious and she still has huge talon like nails at the end where he's scared to get too close and cut her
