when i don't have my boys with me, as i'm pregnant, and have a pretty considerable bump so far!

im thinking i would be allowed to, esp as im finding it hard to get in and out of the car because of my spd playing up.

what do you think?

Not sure about anywhere else, but if you join the parenting club with Tesco, they send you a mother and baby parking permit to put in the car! :cheer:

I haven't used ours loads yet, but will use it on waddling days! x

We don't have a tesco in Preston. We've an Asda and Sainsbury's though!

I would say if you're in pain yes.

For me and other ladies who have it relatively easy i'd say no.

I can still (just about) get in and out of a car, my back doesnt hurt and i can walk to the shop without difficulty. If your in pain and actually have something like SPD then i think it'd be ok, your not just having a pregnant moan

Hugely pregnant ladies are allowed to use car spaces - well at least i did and nothing ever got said!

I know Tescos are ok with it, asda youl have to check cos they have a new policy out - if you park in a mum and baby spot and no kids - 60 pound fine!

I always parked in m&b spots when preg with my kids and not a word was said.

sorry to be the reason of doubt here but the parent and baby spaces arnt always nearest the door (the shortest walk) so i think that it would be unfair to take the space of a parent with a young child, and it goes back to if you are in pain enough to need to park near the store wouldnt the walk round the store cause pain too enough to make walking 5 extra yard a bit pointless but if you have the kids with u i dont see it as a problem anyway

it's not actually the walking i have a problem with. it's the actual turning to get in and out of the car that is the problem.

you know they say, turn on your seat, then take both your legs out then stand up? well that's the problem, i can't do that because i can't open the door enough to get both my legs out first!!!

Because its pain that is causing difficulty getting out of the car, maybe the supermarket will let you use a disabled space???
x

yeah i think i'll ask when im next there. I'm usually with the kids when i go shopping, but times when i pop in from work etc

Well seeing as the lazy g*ts of this world who don't have children with them seem to use them freely and I've yet to see any kind of deterent for them doing so, go for it! Unless you now the car park is run by Safe Park as in the story in the daily mail of course - then perhaps I'd avoid it :)

I would ask about being able to use the disabled parking if I were you as there are often closer to the store. I mean having SPD/PGP does temporarily disable a person, although I would get a letter of confirmation in case they slap a fine on your windscreen :D

I have to say that the main reason I use the mother/baby spaces are because there is extra room to open the door to get Tom and/or the pushchair out.

If you are feeling really bad then I'd say it's fine but otherwise I wouldn't because I know how hard it is to get Tom in / out if there isn't a space free.

Lx

WEll I wouldn't argue with a heavily pregnant lady who was in pain.......... if I were an ASda employee :)
