calpol - help!

Laylas gettin a really snuffly nose n a cough, and ive got some calpol in ready for her injections, but it says from 2 months, she is 7weeks n 1 day today, so im not sure if to risk giving her a little bit to help her sleep tonight, she has barely had more than 30 mins today n keeps getting woken up by it, and ive had about 2hours sleep on her floor over the last 2 nights, so it would benefit us both!

it says in the instructions not to be given to babies who are prem (not us) or under 4kg (also not us) so i cant see what 6 days early is going to do??

any advice would be gratefully received

I'm sure some people will disagree but personally I would give her some if she's really not well - when they say 2 months they have to take into account the huge weight ranges in babies of that age, so I don't think a week would make any difference assuming she's average or above average weight? x

yeh shes at least 11lb, (i just weighed her) n she was 9lb at 3wks so thats 4kg) so inbetween the 50th n 75th centile line thingy in her red book, i didnt think it could really do her any harm but didnt wana ring NHS direct for advice cos im sure they will say wait until shes 2months like it says on the box!

The first time I gave Paige calpol I dont even think she was 10lb (shes only just turned 14lb) so Id say just give her the smallest amount and she will be fine. It really does help them.

Have you also risen the head end of her cot or moses basket? This worked wonders when Paige was ill. It meant her head didnt get all conjested so quickly. Hope she gets better soon.

yeah justt give it to her. when j was first ill he was under the 2 month age and the doctor said give him a smaller dose of the little spoon if you get me?? x

I gave charley half of the 2.5ml spoon before he was 2 months!

My god its like liquid gold!!

I gave her it n it knocked her out for 9hours! shes been 4some photos today n was really grumpy still cos i didnt want her to sleep all the way through em, but there fab, shes due her jabs nxt week so im hopin she gets better over wkend or i think il try n re-arrange em til shes better
