How do you give calpol off a spoon?? We had a syringe which made it relatively easy to give but the childminder seems to have lost it and Tally has an awful cold/cough/fever etc and the doctor has told us to keep giving her calpol when she needs it.

The problem is with the spoon she just spits it straight back out and wont open her mouth for it anymore, she's obviously learnt what it is and doesnt like it. I hate the fact that the only way to get calpol in her atm is to squeze her cheeks together to open her mouth and keep it open until she swallows, feels like i'm force feeding her and she (understandably) screams the whole way through.

Anyone got any tips?? Or know where i can get another syringe thing?? I'm quite irritated it's been lost as she knows Tally needs calpol ATM.

Oh and i know you're not meant ot give calpol for too many days without seeing a doctor but she has been seen and he's checked her over and recommended it until she's better

Go into the health center and ask for a syringe - they will give you one if you explain what it is for. I would slowly give her the calpol off of your finger. Measure out the right amount and obviously wash your hands before scooping wee bits onto your pinky and let her suck it off  .

Hope this helps.

You can just pop into a chemist and buy one well cheep.. I have a ton of them, never used if you want I can pop a couple in the post... (I get more every time I get a repeat prescription of Coreys Drugs, and theres only so many I need - so I have a ton of them. Mainly 3ml ones, but thats fine as I give DS half dose's anyways, but you could just use two to give her 5ml)
