Hi peeps,

When did everyones little ones say mum/mama?

Joe is 6 months old on the 9th of June and has recently learned to make an 'mmmm' sound. There has been a few occasions though (mainly when he's unsettled), when he's said 'maaaam' or 'mamam' when he's chatting away.

Not really sure what to make of this as I suspect it's more by accident than design but would be absolutely over the moon if it's his first word!

Zac just said it this week! We had baba and dada last week. I don't think he is actually saying words with meaning at the mo, just think he is learning new sounds x

Oz says a sound that sounds like mumumumum noooooooo and mumumoooooo lol

Aiden sounds like he's says mamamamamamama all the time. It's very exciting but I know it's not him actually speaking :(

As had dada for ages and just got mamma at about 7 months I think its just a sound at the moment but he 100% know dada is dad he won't say it all day then he comes in from work and shouts it

Noa says mamama when he's crying n papapa when demba plays with him (i don't say daddy to noa often I say pappa)

I can't wait for zac to understand what he is saying and call me mama, he just says it randomly at the mo x

C calls me now, he's 9.5 months old. He looks at me, and goes "mama?" before smiling and clapping. It's very sweet :) He's been saying "mamamamamama" when he cries for a while too, so it's nice to get a happy "mama" instead lol!

That's what I'm waiting for, he have never even looked at me n cried it, its only when I'm in a diferent room!

Blake looks at shaun and says Dada and he loves the sound of Nana (his favourite noise to make) which my mum just adores as you can imagine! Can't wait for mama though.

Owen does mamam sounds and also mmm and dadada but not in relation to us. That will be exciting when he does!! He doesn't do n sound syet but the last few days has discovered g sound.

It's amazing how they learn language and discover different sounds, I think it's fascinating. Love how he has a 'sound of the day' or a sound he gets into and practises making for a few days. love it :) :)

Thanks ladies, Joe has said it more today but I do think it's just his 'sound' of the moment. When he looks at me and says it with a smile on his face I'll know he means it.

Can anybody else believe how old their (maybe not so) little ones are - Like I said, Joe's very nearly 6 months old now, God, it's totally flown by!

My wee man is doing the mmmmmummmm sound when he wants me or wants attention, I'm thinking he's calling me :oooo:
