I was hoping to get some advice off ladies who had c sections. My scar has been extremely swollen since the op, so much so that the bottom half of my belly under my belly button sticks out quite far. It is quite red and hot too, but the mw's don't seem worried. The last day or so i have noticed that above the scar is quite solid the whole way along. Just wondered if this was normal and if anyone else suffered with any of this? I had the op 8 days ago now xx

I don't remember mine being like that. I'd book a doctors appointment xxx

Mine was quite red and swollen but the midwives weren't too concerned. I was told to have salt baths and wear lose clothing. The salt baths really really helped, can't recommend them enough. Also, the more you try and move about the more the chance of infection so if you can, just try and sit and do nothing as much as possible. :)

Id go get it cheaked out. a couple weeks after my section part of my scar was really red sore and raised/blistered looking and i had an infection x

Well it looks like I was right to be worried. Just got back from te hospital after waking at 3am to feed Harry and realising my scar was leaking pretty bad. Had it all checked out and for now been given antibiotics for the infection. They are unsure if it is surface or deep infection, but the mw coming to visit me tomorrow is to check it. And if I start to feel unwell or it gets worse I have to phone the hospital back up xx

Well done for getting it checked out and glad they have given you something for it. Get plenty of rest hun and hope you feel better soon.xx
