I had a c setion with my son but that was nine years ago and I didn't drive at that time. I've been told, I will almost certainly have another section but wondered how long it would be before I could drive again. My son goes to school seven miles from where we live and i just don't know how I'll get him there!!

Any advice appreciated

:?

I had a section three months ago. Phoned my insurance who said it did not interfere with my policy and to ask my doctor he said basically after four to six weeks and if you can do a correct emergency stop you can drive. hope this helps. Good luck with your C section  :D

I think it depends on your insurance company and on how you feel.
I felt fine after two weeks so I called my insurance co (Norwich Union Direct) and they said no problem so ... broom broom ... I was off! x

same here but my doc let me drive after about three weeks as it was the only way appart from taxis to get to see emma in hospital as DH didnt drive

as above i rang my insurance company at nearly 4 weeks asi was desperate to drive and felt fine to do so for ages and thay said as soon as i could do an emergency stop etc. always ring them to check though as they are all different.

Best to check with your insurance co to make sure you are covered but generally the advice is you can drive 4-6 weeks after CS. I didn't have a problem not driving for that time as OH was off for 4 weeks anyway.
