The last couple of days I'll just be sitting doing nothing and suddenly get the most amazing shooting pain right up in my bum, I have to jump out of my chair and hold my bum till it goes lol! They only last about 5 seconds but are blimmin painful!!
Anyone know what this is?
I have had a bit of constipation/trapped wind so is it just related to this and made worse cos the baby's head is down there and there's no room? I also think I have got piles although they aren't painful.
Just wish they would stop cos luckily so far it's only happened at home but I honestly can't sit through these pains so if they happen when I'm out and about it'll be embarrassing!

Ooh! How annoying! Lol. It prob is something to do with baby being down there and stuff,at be the start of things so keep an eye.... :D xx

Could be yoir sciatic nerve... It can cause sharp pain in my own backside!

Hi Becky I posted a similar thread a few days ago as i've been suffering with similar pains in my bum and back of thighs. I saw my midwife today and she tells me it's because baby is sat on a nerve (saiatic nerve) and this is what is causing the pain.

If it's really bad take some paracetamol or try adjusting your position / bouncing on a ball - this helped me.

I have had this today too, do you mean right up your bum-hole (TMI!!) or just in your cheeks though?

i had the same thing for a good 10ish days before baby was born, it was really funny because my leg was twitching on its own when i was in the hospital, i looked like my leg was possessed :-/ lol

not too long now tho and it will all be over :-)

xxx

I don't think it's sciatica as have suffered with that all through pregnancy. This pain is literally right UP my bum, like Rheych says! Don't like it :(

yeah i have had exactly that,. it's horrible isn't it? I have had it in work and have had to clench and hide it best I can!
