Does anyone have the Bugaboo Bee? Saw this and tried it out in mothercare but still not sure if this is the one for us, price wise with everything it will come up to just over £700, I'm not sure if that's expensive or not as I haven't done much research, it's all so overwhelming!

We liked that it could be folded with the seat in it, and that a car seat clips on easily (although I've noticed a lot do that)

Also that it was light and compact, we have a small car and live on the third floor. However, I am a bit concerned that it says it can be used from birth but the seat looks quite uncomfortable and not completely flat for a newborn.

Any thoughts? If you have this pushchair what do you think of it?

Also we would probably get it in the colour sand or red

I love the bugaboo Bee, Bugaboo has a very good reputation and are worth every penny. But, £700 sounds expensive for a Bee?? As far as I am aware they normally cost around £500, it's definitely worth shopping around for the best price but as a brand they are brilliant.

Thanks for the reply, £700 includes the Maxi-Cosi carseat and isofix base.

I'm just concerned at the comfort of LO in the pushchair as it's not completely flat like a carry cot, and looks a bit rough for a newborn, although there is a separate cocoon to buy which seems to be more comfortable but that's around £90 which is quite a lot I think!

To me..... it looks like a wheelchair.

To be honest I don't really care what it looks like, as long as my LO is comfortable and safe and it's practical for a busy city. There's nothing wrong with a wheelchair. Thanks for the reply though :)

My friend has it and she really likes it. I didnt buy it for the same reason - looked weird to put a.newborn there but we have a house so no lugging the pram up and we went for Cameleon. I think bee is perfect for city

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

we are picking ours up on Monday! got it in red. Ours cost over £950 including the car seat and iso fix base?? we got

the base, sun canopy, breezy sunshade (we live in north of scotland, its windy!), seat adapters, seat liner and the cocoon.

I only have a wee car too, hubbies is bigger but we wanted something that would fit in my boot. Its light, its SO easy to use, it does go completely flat for newborn and was just so much better for us than the chameleon. I just could see when I would use the carry cot bit on that.

I love it and it will do for the next baby! if not they have a good resale value.

My sister has the Bee (she had Chameleon when my nephew was a baby though!)

I am not overly keen to be honest. I am having a November baby so I wanted something more than the cocoon to keep baby warm?

We went for the Chameleon., but that fits our needs perfectly.

The wheelchair comment is something I've heard a few people say about the Bee [from people that have it  ]

We looked at the Bee and like mentioned by some I really thought it looked like a wheelchair and the shop assistant said I wasn't the first to comment about that. That said though I liked that it was small light weight easy to fold etc which is what I was looking for. What put me off completely was the fact that there is no carry fit and you need to rely on the cucoon to keep baby snug I just felt as though baby would be completely exposed and I also felt it was just too low for my liking. I think £700 is a lot as when we priced it up it was around the £550 mark. Check John Lewis as well as I know they sell it too x

There's a video of it on http://bugaboobee.org.uk/ it shows all the uses and with a newborn in it.

It does look very lightweight which would be handy if you are carrying it up/down 3 flights of stairs every day, definitely shop around though because Mothercare are expensive.

I haven't used the site before so cant exactly give them a recommendation but have been looking at a Bugaboo myself and Baby2K have the Bee with a cabriofix for £539
http://www.baby2k.com/sBB.cfm?productBrand=Bugaboo&stage=1
Might be worth a look or even to ask any of the others if they have used this site before to check if it is reliable??

I personally prefer the chameleon, however the
bee sounds more practical for you from what you said.x

This is what has me concerned, we would have to rely on the cocoon, and it just doesn't look comfortable like a carry cot where baby will be completely flat, so I think this is one reason and a major one as to why we might not get this.

£700 is including the car seat and isofix and some extras

What would you say are the pro's of getting a chameleon? I didn't actually properly look at this one, does it fold with a seat, or would I need to remove it completely, is it light weight? x

I was looking at it in red as well! Well the figures I have are just a rough estimate and only includes the car seat and isofix, not the cocoon, raincover, adapters etc so I am sure all that will add up! What confuses me is that the sales assistant at Mothercare said we wouldn't need the cocoon, but from what I have read online, it says to use it from birth you would need the cocoon...so confusing, and at £70 that's just so ridiculous, now I am so confused!

I like how easy it is to use and small and practical, but it didn't go completely flat like a carry cot :eh:

Here's some info about the Chameleon

http://www.mothercare.com/Bugaboo-Cameleon%C2%B3/bugaboo_cameleon3,default,pg.html?cm_re=pushchairs-_-mainbanner-_-cameleon695&cm_mmc=Google-_-Pushchairs-_-Bugaboo+-+Bugaboo+Cameleon+3+(NOPF)-_-bugaboo+cameleon+3+-+Exact

They are releasing a new one this month (mine will be here in a few weeks!)

When you are using the carry cot part - when bub is newborn - it folds totally flat [unlike the previous Chameleon]

xxxxxxxxx

Oh fab! Thanks, I just want baby to be as comfy as possible, another trip to mothercare is needed x x

I think the Bee is great for older children - my sister sold her Chameleon when my nephew was about 8 months and swapped it for the Bee (they are very short on space!)

But to me it just doesn't look as secure / cosy / comfortable for a newborn.

I have my all black Chameleon 3 coming anytime from next week and I am so freaking excited.....

I looked at the bee as i too wanted something small for the city, but the bee for me was just too small. I didnt like that the seating part was quite low down, and OH is 6ft 2 so he'd really have to bend down.

I love bugaboo!!! Still gutted I never got the chameleon :(
Anyway I think it sounds perfect for what you need it for.
I am concisdering getting the bee, but not as my main pram - we have an iCandy apple.
But we are looking to book a summer holiday for next year and will need a lightweight pram and I think a bee ticks all the boxes. Xxx
