Brown gritty discharge and cramping early pregnancy

I had a 6 week scan 2 weeks ago due to a previous history of 3 miscarriages and an ectopic I lost a fallopian tube to. They scanned me at 6 weeks due to being high risk. Heartbeat was seen and all in the right place, but yesterday I started having dark brown gritty discharge, it hasn't been heavy but it's been persistent ever since. Some period like cramping and lower back pain followed, and the hospital asked me in. They checked my pulse, BP and felt my stomach. They referred me to EPU but they said they couldn't see me until Monday. I feel like I'm going out of my mind not knowing. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation, and if so what was the outcome?? I just want honesty, I'm not hopeful at this point, but just want to prepare myself as best I can. Thanks.

Brown blood means old blood, which is usually perfectly fine and nothing to worry about, and i know it's hard not to worry but try and stay positive. Scan will reassure you Monday. Good luck x

Thank you so much for the support, I took a 4 hour round trip this morning for a private scan as the stress was eating away at me... Best decision I've made, got to hear and see the heartbeat - 167 bpm and everything as it should be at this stage. Over the moon, thank you all again!! ❤ xxx

Thats great news Im so glad for you! Did they say what could be the cause? Its just I jad a tiny bit of brown upon wiping on Wednesday evening then nothing until just there now and Im trying not to panic....i have a midwife appt on Monday and an early scan on Thursday......I think im around 9 weeks.

Try not to stress too much as brown blood didn't concern them anywhere near as much as it does us. Could be down to your body stretching, clearing itself out, it being confused around the time of your period. So many reasons. Fingers crossed for you that it'll be the same outcome �� Xx
