Brown Discharge?

This is my first baby and I'm just wondering what the mucus plug/bloody show usually looks like?
I have noticed some very light coloured brown discharge on and off over the past week or so (I'm 35+2), it looks and smells exactly like the end of a period, so just old blood I guess.
Is this pretty normal for the final stages of pregnancy and what exactly is it?
I have an appointment with my midwife next week so will ask her then, but I cant imagine it being anything urgent?

it could be your plug starting to come away, either that or a bit of blood from irritation to your cervix

my first pregnancy the plug was the day before i gave birth and was like a lump of bloody snot ...

my second i dont think i had any plug come away before the birth...i had to have a couple of sweeps though which caused a bit of bleeding which probably masked it

Yeah sounds like plug.
With my bloody show was brught red and bled on and off for the day, didnt realise that was what it was and didnt realise i was in labour lol i didnt see my plug. If your worried phone your triage number and theyll asses you on phone and if theyre worried theull ask yoi to come in x

I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about but I’d speak to your midwife as they may want to check you over just in case

It lasted about a week on and off, eventually turned pink then went away completely. I'm now 38weeks. Not sure what caused it or what it was exactly but it was obviously nothing to be concerned about
