Sorry for the tmi but today after going for a bowel movement iv had brown cm when iv wiped. It's only after iv been for a number 2 though 🙈 Google leads me to believe that this is prob quite normal but wondered if anyone else had had this and all been ok? I don't really want to ring the drs and waste their time if it's not needed. I had bleeding in my first pregnancy but that was loads of red blood which turned out to be polyps.

I had a bit of brown bleeding/cm at around 6 weeks. The midwife told me to monitor and if it was painful or turned red to go to A&E. It didn't, but we had a scan at 7 weeks privately and all was fine.

This will sound absolutely rank, but you can get cm from your bum too. Its purpose is to help create a smoother exit if you're constipated. Even if you don't feel particularly constipated, changes to your diet - cravings/aversions) or just your baby stealing nutrients from you as it grows - can do things to your bowels. So yeah, don't panic- it might be coming from your bum, not your fanjo! (And nothing to worry about if it is!)

God, I can't actually believe I just typed that!

Don't panic, sometimes when you have a bowel movement it pushes out old blood so sometimes that happens and not necessarily anything to worry about. If it increases and turns to blood and you get pain then speak to someone but otherwise I'd say you are fine! x

I had some brown cm when I wiped at the weekend too, but I had done a lot of walking about and have read that being on your feet a lot can irritate the cervix. I've not had any since as I've made sure I rest more now xxx
P.S. I also didn't want to ring the doc incase it was nothing

Thanks ladies, I haven't had anymore so was just a once off thing hopefully! It's strange how as soon as your pregnant you worry about every little thing!

I know that feeling! I've been worried by every little thing because I don't know what to expect xxx
