My daughter is 8 weeks old and woke up today with what looks like a burst blood vessel in her eye...she's had recurrent eye infections since birth and started her fourth set of eye drops on Friday. I will phone doctors (yet again) tomorrow but have any of u got any idea whether this could be related to the drops or the eye infection? Should I be worried?

Here's a pic...I realise it's not that bad but I've been worrying about her eyes with all the infections anyway

Hi my LO had a broken blood vessel at around that age (maybe younger) as he is forever sticking his fingers in his eye! It was worse than that and went away quickly. He also had an infection at one point but if your LO's are recurring it's worth checking though likely it's been a sleeping injury! x

Thank you, I was hoping someone would say it could happen from poking herself in the eye. Ive been letting her have some time the last few days with her mits off to learn how to use her hands so it's very possible she's done that. I'm a worrier though so sometimes just need to hear someone else say it. I'll keep an eye on it and if it gets worse or doesn't seem to be improving I'll phone doctor x

Heya those things can be perfectly normal even a big sneeze can cause them. As long as it's not causing discomfort I wouldn't worry.
