Little man is still breech i felt his head last night, iv tried everything and nothings working. I just feel like giving up today, looks like c-section could be the only way but i no if i have one then it could change alot after hes born. Iv got midwife thursday next week and i think she wants him turned by then as shes getting worried as my daughter was always head down and where hes longer and bigger he is running out of space quicker.

I never see c section as a birth option because i dont want one and if im cut open i wont be having anymore children and iv heard its harder breast feeding due to the scar and not being able to bend and lift is gonna be out of the question after 2 weeks as im gonna have to carry a pushchair up 2 flights of stairs and bend forward to get my daughter dressed for school.

I just want hope that maybe if he stays breech there would be another option other then csection. And is there a possibility he could be stuck where he is? x

Sorry about the moan x

hun the first time my baby turned head down was at 33 weeks. And so far he's stayed that way round. So dont write it off yet. If you have a rocking chair or swing (!) its really good for the baby. The swinging action helps them to develop the balance mechanism in their ear and they learn where their body is in space. Some people think that if they develop this they know to turn cephalic. I dunno how much science is behind it, but my mum lent me her rocking chair for the pregnancy just incase. If you havent got one you could try a kind of rocking chair action on your birthing ball? or theres that spinning babies website too, loads of info on there. good luck!

My midwife told me to go on all fours with my bum up and rock back and forwards for 10mins every night and i have been, iv also tried frozen peas on his head and hot water bottle on his bum, rocking on my ball, OH talking to him on my lower bump, massaging him in the direction to turn. He was head down till just before about 26 weeks then he turned breech and hasnt actually moved from this position since, i thought he had but i was wishful thinking as i thought his head might be his bum but it wasnt, its as tho he cant actually move from where he is and i no his cord is in front of his face so maybe its stopping him moving? but feels like hes engaging bottom down as today iv had LOADS of pressure down low as if hes ready to drop out x

 sounds like youre doing everything you can. Try not to worry too much about breastfeeding with a c-section.My mum did it 3 times and doesnt know what the fuss is about, she said it was fine every time. You would need some help with looking after the girls, getting shopping up the stairs etc... though.

Iv never had an op or anything and i HATE epidurals even the word makes me go all light headed and knowing id have to have both of them just makes me wish i wasnt pregnant. Shopping would be fine its just i havent got anyone to help me during the day with getting the pushchair up stairs and if i leave it downstairs then the management company take them away. Really am not having a good day. just hope he turns by next week tho :) x

 keep thinking positive hun! I know what you mean, Ive never had an operation either so the thought is really scary. Im gonna get hold of some low dose arnica tablets to start taking every day leading up to birth. If I do end up having a c section the scar heals really quickly with arnica in your system, and if you dont, you get less bruising and stitches heal quickly.

Ohh i think ill be trying them then :) i had a 2nd degree tear with my daughter and it seemed to take a while to heal. Where can you get them from? x

Im not sure, I asked in tesco extra yesterday and they stopped doing them, just the creams :( I know boots do them but boots are always more expensive. Might just order some online with raspberry leaf tea to be delivered.

Hey Becks :) Hope he turns for you soon - they don't half give us a load of stress do they and they're not even here yet! ;)
I've never had a c-section but I was put under last Dec to remove a cyst from the top of my bum! lol! Must've been about a 4inch incision. Believe it or not, I had no problems sitting on it (obviously I was to avoid it) It wasn't painful hardly at all. I was expecting to be in pain for AGES!!
You'll be surprised at how much extra help everyone will offer if you had to have a c-section too - you'd be fine :)
Although lets not talk like that for now! Like Tiny said, you sound like you're doing everything you can to turn him - make it hell for him to stay where he is! lol! My baby was back to back for weeks but he/she seems to have adopted the cephalic position after far too long sat on my ball! Try kneeling and leaning over a ball if you've one? That also helped me :) xx

^^ that mustve been a right pain in the bum (teehee, I couldnt help it, I was chuckling to myself when I thought it )

Thanks :) i wouldnt mind if little man stays on my right side with his head down or back to back aslong as it leaves me with a chance of not having a csection lol. Im deffinatly going to be making it very uncomfy for him where he is, i dont see how he is comfy tho as i lean forward alot so his head must be getting squashed lol x

Just got my book out and opened the 'breech' section. I'll quote a few bits for you...

"...sometime between the thirty-second and thirty-seventh weeks of pregnancy, the baby turns..." :yay: plenty of time for your LO :)

"One the baby is amost fully developed, the natural pull of gravity is usually sufficient to draw the head down"

"The turn can be delayed, however, if the mom is experiencing fear or tension, or if there are circumstances in her life that are upsetting...their uterus remains taut and the baby is not able to complete the turn"

It goes on to talk about a study where 100 women with breech babies at 37 weeks were given relaxation and visualisation sessions and 81 of them the baby turned. THey compared it with 100 women who were not given the session and about 40 turned (20 with that thing the doctors try to turnt he baby manually.)

It recommends relaxation and talking to your baby in a reasuring way, and also mentions that acupunture practitioners can use techniques to help a baby turn. Worth a try. If you have MSN I could send you the relaxation track of the hypnobirthing CD. Its my little version of heaven :)

Hiya, sorry to invade ur thread but I had 2 natural births and was all set 4 a natural birth wiv my 3rd,was told he was head down, went into labour, arrived at the labour ward..after been examined the mw said 'hmmm there's something moving down there??' it was my sons feet!! I really wanted a natural birth but was persuaded that wiv a footling breech c section is the only way,i was really sore for 2 days then it became easier and by the time I left hospital I was able to move quite easily although uncomfortably,every1 rallied round 4 me and helped me wiv my other children, shoppin, cookin etc but after a fortnight I was back to my old self. I also managed to breastfeed although was hard at 1st cos I couldn't lift him out the crib so I relied on nurses help in hospital for the 1st day.
Also if u had ur 1st child naturally and this 1 is bum down (rather than feet) u should b able to push for a natural birth, breech babies were v common up until about 10 years ago xxxx

^^ that mustve been a right pain in the bum (teehee, I couldnt help it, I was chuckling to myself when I thought it )

Hahahahaaa! Such the comedian... lol ;)

I was surprised that it wasn't a pain in the arse! I actually had to put it on that I was in more pain than I actually was so I felt like I deserved the time off work! Although once it needed packing everyday I wasn't allowed back for ages anyway! lol!

lol, im so ready to be an embarrasing parent with my rubbish jokes

I no there is a chance of having baby naturally if they are breech but because i have big babies, 1st being 9lb 3 and this one heading the same way it wouldnt be possible for them to allow me to do that.

I have been very tensed this time round and i notice my bumps hard alot plus im fearing the csection so maybe it is my fault hes not turned.

Just gonna do everything i can till i see the midwife and see what she says and if she can recommend anything else.

And thanks tiny but i dunno if im patient enough to listen to the hypnobirthing thing lol its bad enough having to do the rocking back and forwards thing i get too bored lol
Im going to the zoo saturday so hopefully a long walk and a nice day out will help me relax abit more.
Thank you everyone :) x

Thanks. Just dont see why he isnt head down my daughter was always head down she was such a good baby lol My OH says that i should have been prepared for a csection when i first got pregnant as it can happen but i didnt need one with my daughter so why should i have prepared for 1 lol x

Hi Becks

There is actually quite a lot of time left for him to turn. mines is breech at the minute but im trusting he/ she will turn soon.
I would recommend a hypnosis session as it can be very effective and if it doesn't turn the baby at least you'll be more relaxed.
I would hate the thought of a section even though a lot of my friends swear by them and had very quick recoveries so i plan to use visualisation and all the tricks in the book in order to turn this little one.
My first actually turned quite late, about 35 weeks and i've heard of them turning much later than this. Be positive. :)
