for all u ladies thinking about breast feeding their is a programme on tomorrow at 9pm on bbc3 xx

Just thought id bump this thread to remind everyone its on in 50mins x x

Ive v+ it to see if it would change my mind as im leaning towards formula feeding, like I did with Adam but by the sounds of it, its not going to do that. How come it put you off hunny? x x

Could someone tell me what the outcome was of this program? I want to breastfeed so would like to know what you ladies opinions of it are that watched it since I missed it.

xxx

Didn't watch it but I breastfed my first two and will do this one, I loved breastfeeding. So I am guessing this painted quite a negative picture. I disagree with all this breast is best stuff, best is whatever is right for Mum and baby and for those who have been put off believe me it's not as bad as they were making out. (Will have to see if it's on iplayer). xx

I watche it this morning as I could not stay awake long enough to watch it last night. :-)

I think it was fairly good and gave a balanced view of both... I think the key thing is that breastfeeding gives the baby stuff that formula cannot and if you can do it then great. But the key is not to feel guilty if you cannot.... My plan is to give it a try... if it works then great.... and I do hope it works but will not beat myself up about it if I cannot do it.

Also talks about getting help from support centres if you have any issues with it. Which I think is also a really good message....

Its going to be hard like I think everything else to do with pregnancy and being a mum is but worth a go..

I tried breastfeeding with Doodles when he was born but it felt weird & wrong which is stupid I know cos thats what their there for but there is so much sexulasition (is that a word) on breasts these days that I just couldnt do it, plus I didnt have much milk so it dried up quicklly despite expressing regularly (though we think it's because I wasn't eating) so had to put him on formula. I'm hoping to try breastfeeding again on our next baby but if I still dont feel comfortable I'll try expressing again x x

(also on the plus side of bottles, it's nice for Dad's to be able to feed bubba, which obviously they cant do if your breastfeeding) x
