Hi,

Would there be anyway of knowing that you couldn't breast feed? i'm just worried that how will I know whether I can or not?

Sorry this may sound really silly it's just that I was told by a Fortune Teller that I may have probs breast feeding now thats playing on my mind.

i don't know anyone who hasn't had problems of one sort or another with BF. so the fortune teller was right -

All i can advise is giving it your best shot. And tell yourself you can do it and have confidence that you can. Everything worth while is hard work to start with.

And you can come back here for advice 24 hours a day.

plus.. ask ur midwife to check your breasts.. they dont do it routeenly anymore. but if you say.. look can you chk my nipples are ok for feeding etc.. im sure that she will..

im being overly prepared this time..got electric breast pump..sheilds and nipplette.. im sooo determined to do it!

omg i cant believe a fortune teller told u that  tut tut! :shakehead:
it is hard work hun but theres lots of support here, good luck

am a fortune teller (today)

and i predict that you will breastfeed you little one successfully after a few normal problems to begin with

:rotfl: :rotfl: your the best fortune teller i've ever met!

Thanks guys, I'm confident that I will breast feed now, god knows why I listen to fortune tellers.

I'm terrible i believe everything i hear!!

Breastfeeding's a doddle....once you get the position right and the baby latches on ok and the baby sucks properly and you can get over the numb bum syndrome from sitting in one place for so long. :D

Seriously, you won't know until you try - you can ask your midwife or the nurses on Labour ward if you have any difficulties. :)

I asked my midwife the same question and she said provided you haven't had breast surgery, there is no physical reason why not. Get support if you need it - it can be difficult but most probs can be sorted.
