I'm only just getting the hang if breast feeding and although its going really well I don't feel comfortable to feed in front of other people. Sometimes its a battle to move LO's hands, get my nipple in the right place etc without having everything hang out! I don't mind my mum/sister but its husbands family who are critical of everything I do watching me. They seem to think that its not a problem being here at feeding time but I just don't feel comfortable. What makes it worse is I live above a business and my husbands family just walk into my living room without any warning so I have no chance of covering myself up!
Its driving me mad, husband has asked them to say when they are coming round but they are obviously not listening!

You can get a cover like bebe au lait but i think the problem is them and they shouldnt come unannounced. Get your husband on their case, so its not coming from you

I'd highly recommend investing in some sort of nursing cover. I was given a bebe au lait cover by my sis-in-law and it has been essential!

I know that others cope well with shawls or muslins, but I can never keep myself covered while positioning LO, and she often pulls off of the nipple and faffs around so I would find it very difficult to keep covered without the beb au lait. They're quite pricey for what they are (though you may find a cheaper one on ebay or something) but if it means that you feel conifdent to keep breastfeeding and to feed whilst out and about I think it would be well worth the investment.

These covers have a stiff hoop at the top so that you can still see your baby, but no-one else can. They're fab! And have made me feel much more confident.

Good luck! Let us know how you get on!

With my family I generally use a pashmina (i keep 2 in my changing bag for being out and about) or go into the bedroom. A lot of the time Tyler has a sleep after so I let him sleep on the bed

I felt like this in the early days so used to go somewhere quiet where i could relax until i got the hang of it. I sometimes still do this but because Kynon is easily distracted now!

You need to get your hubby to keep telling them they nerd to respect your space now baby is here its nit healthy for them to do that as you could be just about to go out etc xxx

try wrapping him in a light blanket first harry faffs and yanks his head back so i swaddle hi and he feeds alot better and i have a nursing cover i bought off ebay not a brand one but it does the same job deffo get the hubby to talk to your inlaws because what if you were getting changed or something and they just walked in, it;s not right hun xx
