Braxton Hicks every few mins - is this normal??

Have been having BH for the past week or so, but today I have had them every 5 mins or so, and they seem to last about 30 secs (roughly). No pain at all, but I did have 'period' pains on and off during last night.

How often do the rest of you get BH contractions?

I had the same on Thursday night. They came on all of a sudden and were about 5 mins apart and lasted for about 40 seconds each. This went on for about a hour. Try getting up and walking around or change your position as this sometimes help and they will stop if they are Braxton Hicks. I've been getting them for a week now on and off but each time I get them, they seem more intense than the last time. Haven't had them since Thursday night and they were the most intense. It's just your body getting ready for the real thing.

If the pains don't stop when you walk around, contact your midwife.

i had them for, four hours other night, and was in pain with mine though.
i had some milk and a walk around the house it helped.
