Weird question, but is it acceptable to go for a bra fitting and not buy anything? I have no idea of my size, but need to find out cos I need a "proper" bikini top to keep them in  i was thinking of goin to John Lewis and getting them to fit me - would they do it for swimwear?! And would it be really rude to then turn around and be like "yea I like it, but I don't want to buy today"? Mainly cos JL are well pricey and I want OHs plastic there too  would they be fine if I said I would come back another day to get OH to pay?!

Yup totally fine.
They can't make you buy something you don't want or like :)
I've done it before as some of the bras they bring you aren't always very nice
X

I did this the other day in Debenhams! The only thing is, different shops and different styles, fit differently. I have to buy from the shop and brand I got measured in.

Yes, I've done it on more than one occasion.

Something to bear in mind though is that different brands of bra fit very differently - I'm a different size in Freya than I am to say Curvy Kate. So get the fitter to try a variety of bras from different brands as part of your fitting and note down what size you are in them :)

Thanks guys! I didn't want them to think I was bring proper cheeky  ljy I'll defo bare that in mind! I'm honestly totally clueless about sizes, ice not been fitted since pregnant with K, so like 5 years

The only ones that fit me properly are the Gorgeous range from Debenhams. I tried the Freya ones but they just didn't fit properly in what ever size I tried.

I don't think Freya have ever fitted me properly either! I'd absolutely love it if I could buy from the "normal" ranges though, it's always been a dream of mine

I was too chicken to do it when I got measured the last time (I went to M&S)

So I ended up buying maternity bra's at £28

The woman that measured me was bloody good, she basically walked me to the till.

I went back to another M&S the next day for a refund

xxxxxxx

I'm a 38GG and I tend to get measured and then look on sites like brastop as I can't afford £30 a bra.

Well... Currently wearing a 36D, which I knew wasn't right, I'm actually a 30E/32DD! So was totally in the wrong size! Last time I was measured I was about a 38H or something  found a gorgeous bikini, but the pants were tiny an I need something more substantial  the hunt is on! She was fine bout me not buying too, just old her OHs paying but didnt want to do the shopping bit!

Glad you got fitted. It makes such a difference. I used to work in Debenhams doing bra fitting. I totally agree getting fitted in a bra doesn't mean that's the size you are. Different styles, sizes, fabrics fit differently.xxx
