I intend to breastfeed. Just wondering, before lol was born, did you get bottles in just in case ie expressing or emergencies etc. if so what did you get and what did you find you needed? Also is there a brand you like best? I'm clueless :) but want to prepare best as I can. Just bought an avent manual pump off ebay.

I did. I got bottles (tommee tippee), a steriliser and a breast pump and a bottle brush. The only thing I've added to that since moving to exclusive expressing is some storage lids for the TT bottles. And freezer bags to freeze milk. But I really wouldn't worry too much about all that yet as I wouldn't express for at least a couple of weeks if you don't have to xx

I had to solely express for the first eight weeks to maintain my supply but that was because C had Tongue tie.

I would have a few bottles and maybe a manual pump just incase but I wouldn't worry too much for the first six weeks as expressing can cause issues with supply. You could get some Milton if you didn't want to but a steriliser xx

I went out and bought the big tommee tippie set for £80 I think it was. BIG MISTAKE!
I hardly use the stuff and it really was a waste so I'm going to sell on what I can.
If you do buy bottles only buy a couple and don't bother with the smaller ones just get the big ones.

I bought two bottles and a microwave steriliser (it was half price)

I use Avent, they have natural teats which are meant to be better if you did have to use a bottle for some reason [they are more like nipples??]

We ended up expressing from day 3 so I had to buy a few more bottles and a bottle brush and sterilising tablets

xxxxxx

Thank you for the info, I'm grateful. I really want to do this and also be prepared but don't want to waste money on stuff I don't need. Xxxx

Don't stock up on too many, as some bf babies won't take some bottles (or any!) we had a couple in the topped up as I started expressing more. X

On my iPhone - so cant see tickers :(
