Just wondering for women who bottle fed their babies due to whatever reason. How do you feel about it now.
I still feel embarassed when people ask how I fed my children and then go into the lengthy discussion of that I couldn't bf as had no milk etc.
I still also feel that people who have bf successfully don't belive me when I tell them my reasons. Am I the only one or do other bottle feeding mums still feel embarassed about bottlefeeding.

Not at all, I dont think any mum should be mad eto feel embarressed for bottle feeding their babies, iv bottle fed Alfie from day one and i planned to do before i had him, I wouldnt have been able to even if id wanted to as like you i didnt produce any milk, I dont feel as if i have anything to be ashamed of Alfie has never even lost an ounce in weight hes healthy and 3/4 of the time smiling, It is everyones individual choice of how they feed their child and to be honest i really do think people shouldnt judge each other on how their child is fed, after all formula isnt poison is it, you have done what you think is best for your LO and noone has the right to try make you feel bad about it

I bottle fed Ryan, he's 7 now and I don't regret it one bit. I didn't feel comfortable at the thought of BF him so he would have picked it up had I forced myself.

I expressed for the first 14wks as Arianna would not feed off me at all - I went to all the clinics and she just wouldn't take direct from me. Since then I have bottle fed and I know what you mean about being embarrased. I think I make myself feel worse tho as before she was born I was telling everyone that I would bf as it was better for them etc... but to be honest Arianna is coming on leaps and bounds so I dont think it has made any difference.

S. xx

I'm really not bothered of what anyone thinks of me bottle feeding because at the end of the day i'm doing whats best for my Son, the choice to bottlefeed was my personal choice simply because i felt more comfortable doing that and he's healthy and happy as a breastfed baby regardless what anyone else might say.

(I've found it to be the old biddys who critise :x )

yep they criticise me for using a dummy

I haven't had that yet suprisingly, My Doctor has said something about Harry having a dummy though. I dont see anything wrong with it, it pacify's him & he was a nightmare to get to sleep of a night before & now he wont go off without it

And me for getting on a bus with my pushchair - THEY used to walk eveywhere apparently

Im not embarrassed at all that I stopped BF at 6 weeks and she is now bottle fed. Sorry but I think that too much pressure is put on women to exclusively BF for 6 months, some can do it and some cant. I had PND and I felt alot better after others could help feed.
