I got a letter through this morning saying my blood glucose levels were high at my 28 week bloods and I have to have a GTT next Thurs. I was really hoping I'd get away without one this time, I had one last pregnancy and it was sooooo boring! I guess I'll just have to get a good book...

Let this be a lesson not to eat a slice of birthday cake and a chocolate bar 30 minutes before having blood tests!

know how you feel hun i always have to have 1 due to high BMI am dreading mine its on tuesday got to be at the hospital by 8:30 which means leaving the house at 7:30 as theres a lot of traffic that time in the morning im going to be a right grumpy cow no cuppa no brekkie and then sit around all bloody morning with a grumbling belly and dry mouth and probably a headache and cant eat anything till almost lunchtime xxxxxxxx

LOL that happened to me had mega chocolate and coca cola blowout the night before my blood test/urine test and got refferred for GTT.

What gets me is that they take your blood, give you a pure sugar drink then take your bloods again and wonder why there is sugar in your blood..... and these people went to Uni? (How long does someone have to train to know something so obvious?!?!?!)

I don't class myself as diabetic... I just have a high sugar threshold

Looks like they're a few of us in the same position.

I had to drink 274 mls of Lucozade 1 hour before I went for a blood test and it came out high so I now have to go for a GTT.

My blood glucose was 8.3.
