Hi,
I'm confused again about how to deal with NHS in Scotland :oooo:
My story: I didn't know how to find out - am I really pregnant or not (was worried about cysts and thought I need some tests). I had an ultrasound in ABC4D, Glasgow, and it's 7 weeks and I even saw a heartbeat! <3
Today I tried to book an appointment with midwife. In my new surgery they said I have to call 0141 232 4005 - which is a "central booking line to encourage women to make an appointment with their midwife as soon as they discover they are pregnant". I called. They asked for my name, date of birth, address and said that I'll receive information about my appointment by post.
So...I thought maybe they'll tell me to which hospital I should go, ask how many weeks...no, just general info. Do I have to just wait now? Has anyone waited too? Can I track a progress of my appointment in surgery? Sorry if it's stupid questions. First pregnancy! (thanks to ABC4D, now I know it)

A booking in appointment and 12 week scan appointment will be posted out to you :)

You were right Lottie89!
Yesterday I was so impatient that I called them again - my appointment is scheduled for 03.12. Today (so it took about a week) I received a letter. The date of my ultrasound scan is 05.12.

Now goes my next question: 05.12 it will be just 10 weeks and 1 day. It doesn't seem right to me to have a scan so early, am I right? It should be at 11-14 weeks as a part of combined test...No one asked me about any dates though. Should I try to call/write them again and ask to reschedule a scan? I'm afraid it will be to late to discuss it with midwife, just 2 days before scan appointment.
Thanks.

Hi Rinnka, I’m in Glasgow too. When I phoned the central booking system I got asked the date of my last period so they could work it out (it was an ivf pregnancy so I knew the dates specifically - they should certainly have asked you), I would absolutely phone back, my friend got told the wrong date and went in for her scan anyway at 10+ weeks and they sent her away so don’t potentially waste your time. Phone them and explain you’ll only be 10 weeks and it’ll be inaccurate so could you get a later date! Xx

Yes huge thank you MrsS15! I'll do it straight away.
Later (edit): I phoned back, and now I I'm having a scan on Christmas eve! Ho ho ho.) I'm glad I rescheduled it. Feel better now.
