Just wondering what everyone else does when you go out to eat? Do you just order something there and ask about ingredients and salt content etc or do you pack your own stuff? If so what do you pack that'll keep? xx

I'm going to a wedding in September and thought about this. I thought of taking some purée in a food container so it can be heated in bowl of hot water, plus some carrots and broccoli and maybe some banana. I'll be taking lots of wipes and a waterproof bib :) x

We will either give her some of ours or order her something, a few places we've been have done a little plate of veg for free for her. I always pack some snacks incase I don't feel the choice is suitable

So far we've just given her some of ours. Usually just veg from a side salad or a bit of bread or chicken. I usually try to order something I think would be safe.

I also have an emergency bag of "crips" in my bag in case, although she doesn't tend to eat all that much yet.

xxx

On my iPhone - so cant see tickers :(

I just give her something from my plate. Last week at he carvery she had some Yorkshire pudding, turkey, roast potatoes, carrots and cabbage and I just chopped up into manageable sizes and put a big bib on her and let her get on with it :)

So far we have taken packed lunches- I usually do something like dairylea sandwich, some sort of fruit and Mayb a yoghurt! I take snacks too like organix carrot sticks or rice cakes. I take dettol wipes for the high chair and table so I can put the food down and let him go for it! Plus a cover all type bib and lots of wipes! Lol! Xx

I figured that the stuff I was giving at home is relatively additive free, so what ever went when out and about, within reason. Even at 2 we tend to choose something for ourselves that DS can share with us, which with BLW is practically anything :D

Brilliant thanks girls. I might just order something off the baby menu depending on what it is and just ask what ingredients they use and not to add salt. There's this restaurant we go to quite regularly and they do a spag bol and things like that for children xx

I've always been allowed another plate for LO to have some of mine as finger food but only a bit cos I dont want to mess up their floor! Then I just bring a banana to mash up in case he wont eat mine.

We just give her things off our plate. Usually veg from the salad and anything else that's suitable

I usually bring some buttered toast or eggy bread as it is relatively clean to eat and then give veg or salad from my plate.

I bring veg as I haven't been anywhere that I can give him something suitable as we've mainly been for pub lunches.

We would either request something special-like a bowl of veg, or just share ours with him depending on what we'd ordered.

I asked them how it was cooked. Most of the time it was steamed. If not we didn't order it :)

A few places we've been to has "toddler meals" on the menu.

They cook them with no salt etc..

I'd just get her that, or I'd ask for a bowl of veggies and I'd give her some meat from my plate depending on what it is x usually I get chicken thats quite plain x
