just got the results from my bloods taken last week and my iron has dropped from 12.3 to 6.3 and i take 3 tablets a day

Well make sure you eat lots of fruit as well then! I;ve been lucky, I don;t seem to get bunged up on my iron tablets, but it is a very common side effect. I know some of the ladies on here take a liquid supplement instead and find that it agrees with them a bit more.

On the plus side, you will have lots more energy! My iron wasn;t as low as yours and I really noticed the difference after a couple of days on the tablets!!

Wow thats a big drop!! You been feeling pretty crap?

Were you on iron tablets when your levels were 12.3?? I had my bloods take at my 28 week appointment and levels wer 10.5, and feeling pretty shit, noone mentioned it, or the fact that my white blood cell count was high cos i was fighting infection!!

Watermelon and chick peas are very high in iron, as well as the usual red meat and leafy greens.

Hope they increase

I was told to drink orange juice with every meal as it helps iron get absorbed and NOT to drink tea or coffee with meals as it does the opposite. Also was told to eat strawberries (YUM)

My initial blood tests showed my iron was 13.4 and my 28 week bloods showed my iron was 11.4, so only alittle drop and still well within normal limits.

You should pack your diet with iron rich foods or consider a prenatal vitamin like Pregnacare :D Ideally you want your iron over 10.
