well alot of you will prob remember that I had to be scanned weekly from week 20 and then had to move onto weekly doppler scans then 2 doppler scans and ctgs every week to keep an eye on the blood flow to Ellie

I had a postnatal check up with my consultant today to find out why Ellie had stopped growing and the reason is I had LOTS of blood clots on my placenta. So I asked the reason for that and they said its normally smokers or people who have a miscarriage.

Anyway she said that when we decide to have another baby the chance of this happening again is quite high and I will need to take a daily dose of asprin and have the weekly scans again and also the chance of early delivery is prob most definate

Has anyone else ever had the problem of clots on the placenta before xx

sorry hun i have no experiance of this as is my first pregnancy but i bet you glad you have some answers - hope you all keeping well xx

yeah definetly glad that we found out what it was but we were told that Ellie is very lucky to be here!!! as the problem cant be picked up on a scan, but I also feel that it is sort of my fault that Ellie was so early. But we are all doing great and cant wait to have xmas with the 2 girls, not long til you have your little baby xx

Hi Claire - Ellie is a lucky girl to be here safely X
I have no advice , but why would you feel your at fault or to blame for this, it just happened hun , glad they have ways and tactics to minimise problems next time X:lol:

Glad to hear that you have been able to find out a cause for the problem, and don't blame your self. I've been adviced to take an asprin a day if we were to try again, but still havent been for my 6 week check up so havent found out anything for definate. xxxxx

thanks girls just feeling the hormones still of all the pregnancy and birth problems,

I havent had my 6 week check either that was the consultant who had been seeing me all through my pregnancy called and asked if I could go in and speak to her so she could explain the reason for the IUGR and also what went wrong with the section and why I lost so much blood, she is a great consultant. Hope you get an answer to why Tomas came early, oh and love the picture of him on your profile hes a wee cutie pie xx
