I was hoping on some advice. (Hello to all by the way). I am currently 6 weeks and one day pregnant, today at work I was horrified to discover I was bleeding. I rang the doctor immediatey who put me in touch with the midwife. I have to attend the early pregnancy clinic tomorrow at 09:30am for a scan. I am absolutely petrified of the outcome, has anyone else experienced anything similar??
The bleeding is not heavy, but isn't spotting either - like a light period?

Please offer some advice!

Hello and congrats on your pregnancy

I have no experience of bleeding but and I can only imagine how worried you must be...

My work pal had heavy bleeding reqularly for the first 16 weeks of her pregnancy, and is now 31 weeks and her and bubba are doing great....

Keep strong, and good luck for tomorrow, keep us updated and we are all here for for advice xxx

P.S Plenty of rest, gt your feet up

Thanks Zoe.
I am considerably worried, tomorrow morning couldn't come sooner!! I just hope i'm another miracle story with a beautiful baby at the end of all this. My mum said she bled when she was pregnant with my younger sister which is a little reassuring to know that things can work out ok. I think it's just a case of 'watch this space'.
I'll pop on tomorrow morning and let you all know how I get on, best get drinking plenty of water for this scan....i hope i don't pee myself!

Apparently it can happen. You can have a period type bleeding when period is due, and there are other reasons for bleeding in pregnancy that are not bad, so it could be OK, but then of course it may not be.

I don't want to get your hopes up. Be prepared, but please don't be stressed either as that is definitely not good for the bab. Just try to relax and be positive until you have seen the midwife.

Icecream - Yeah you are right about staying positive. It's hard not to worry, you constantly think about your baby when there's nothing wrong, but when there might be it's twice as bad, it literally is all you can think about. I think i need to get to bed and try and sleep the worries away.

You are bound to be worried hun, its natural

Get yourself to bed, and rest even if you dont sleep....

My thoughts will be with you tomorrow xx

good luck for the scan. :)

bleeding, even heavy bleeding is very common in early I have experienced bleeding of varying degrees with my pregnancies. Its great that you were booked for a scan so quickly and not made to 'wait it out' !

*lots of sticky baby glue to you*

Hi

Its natural to worry hun but lots of girls go through pregnancy spotting or continuing there periods and have normal healthy babies, hoep this is the case for you and your scan went well.

Well I went to Early Pregnancy Clinic on Saturday morning. They took blood and urine sample. I then went in for a normal scan, which then led to an internal scan. Doctor advised she could not see anything and it was one of three things:
1) too early to tell
2) Miscarriage
3)Ectopic pregnancy
I was sent home and they called me later that day with test results, I spoke to a lovely nurse who advised me i'd had a miscarriage and that i'd need to go back this Saturday for another urine test. Thi must be to see if the hormone levels are decreasing.
I feel so awful, haven't been to work so far this week, it wont sink in because I didn't go through any pain? I still feel 'ok'.

Sorry this isn't a happy post, but thought you would like to know how i got on.
