I've never bothered timing my feeds before, I just let Lizzie feed until she takes herself off, and if I try to feed her more she just clamps her mouth shut and won't feed anyway!
However, I found an app on my phone for breastfeeding so decided to use it yesterday just to see, and I was really shocked at how short her feeds were!!
This is how she fed yesterday:

5: 03am - 3mins58
9:22am - 5mins41
12:18pm - 7mins55
1:47pm - 4mins40
2:15pm - 12mins14
2:54pm - 15mins12
6:27pm - 6mins35
7: 09pm - 5mins17
8:31pm - 5mins16

Anyone else's baby cope on such short feeds?? She seems to be making up for it with her longer feeds close together mid afternoon, but it would be great to be able to move her longer feeds nearer the evening so she sleeps for longer at night! Any tips?
Like I said, I can't force her to feed, but if I made the afternoon feeds shorter would she feed longer later or is that just mean??? :)

Isla only has short feed too, but in the evening they are much longer. She sleeps at night after a 5 min feed for four hours. Baby is more efficient at getting milk from us than a pump. I'm not sure how I manage to get Isla to feed longer at night. She does it from 5pm onwards xx

I've got a breastfeeding app too so I monitor all of Isla's feeds and she'll do anything between 7 and 12 minutes.

I now do the expressed bottle every evening so I know she's getting a good feed and at the moment she sleeps for 5/6 hours after it.

There's nothing you can do to make her feed longer but I guess you could block feed (feed on the same boob for some of the closer together feeds) to make sure she's getting enough hind milk...?

I have been trying to block feed but my nipples don't like it much lol!! I think I might try an expressed bottle tonight but I'm a bit worried that if I defrost and warm up 3oz and she only takes 1oz then I've wasted the rest! Could she have the rest of it later on?

Yeah with EBM we always give the rest later if having during the day we just only warm it once so if he has it later itll just be room temp (we just leave it out dont put in fridge) never had any probs with it.

Owen is also a mega quick bfer and always has been. Used to always time them and try and round them up a bit, haha! But often just 5 mins. Used to worry me but he is growing fab and sure your LO is too. Sometimes they are just effiecient feeders with a strong suck and you may also have fast let down of milk = quick feed!

Sorry - meant to reply to this days ago but haven't got near the laptop! Have you tried giving her an expressed bottle yet? I know what you mean about wasting precious expressed milk if she doesn't take it all in one go but you can leave it for a few hours. I asked La Leche League about storing milk etc - they've got an online enquiry form that you just fill in and someone emails you back.

Hope Lizzie is doing ok!

Thanks for the replies, I spoke to a breastfeeding councillor today and she said anything from 5-40 minutes is normal, so that's ok!
Lizzie had a bottle of expressed milk yesterday but I think she got too greedy - she took 4oz and threw most of it back up. Is this because a teat flows too quickly for her stomach to register it's full?
