Birth Plans

Have you started to think about yours?
I have decided to start writing mine now even though its still early. I am also going to write one for my hubby because i know that once it starts he will forget everything i have told him! So this way he can go to my notes and get his 'Orders' out as soon as i go into labour! I know he will panic at some point and not have a clue what to say or do!

I've been musing for a while but I haven't put pen to paper as yet. I've discussed a few things with my husband but I do worry that he'll get a bit flustered and possibly forget or feel unable to assert himself if he has to make an important decision or represent my views and I'm out of it. So yeah, a birth plan could come in very helpful indeed.

I have been thinking about it the last couple of weeks but have no idea where to start or what to put on it!! Should really start soon and I might make one for my OH aswell thats a good idea!

I have put mine in stages like

1st stage - what positions i would like to get into, that i would like to be mobile, who i want there, that i want as few internal exams as possible, what pain relief i would like, i have also warned my midwife in it that i often advance quickly and during transition i will shout for an epidural but won't really mean it!

2nd stage - positions, that i would not like an episisotomy unless baby in distress, baby delivered straight onto my chest, who will cut the cord

3rd stage - injection for placenta

I have also added my feelings if there are any complications like i need a c section.

Then i have stated that i want to have a nice bath and then be left to relax with my baby and partner. I have also asked for some help with Breast feeding cause i am naff at it and always get sore and give up!
