im really sorry to sound like a silly willy but what do i put in my birthplan?
how do i structure it with out writing a 5000 word essay.....
and when do i bring it to my midwife??

sorry to ask a random one that may seem so obvious to most but i havent got a clue as to what im suppose to do lol:thanks:

I put who I wanted there, pain relief, if I wanted section etc but......

It all went out of the window! I ended up with an epidural and a c section, the two things I'd specifically said I didn't want!! As it was an emergency I had to have it. My perfect text book pregnancy changed overnight when my baby turned and went breech.

My advice, have an idea of what u want but be open to change and don't let it upset you if and when it does change. I was so looking forward to my water birth!

As long as the outcome is a healthy LO that's what matters

I've been wondering too what to put in mine - not sure what kind of stuff to cover.

Shall I just write 'give me any drugs I ask for'??? :)

i think im going to write that if i can i want a water birth but if i can't give me drugs. And also that i want my mum for the actual birth but during labour my mum and sister wil be there. It's so hard to think x

I was actually quite proud of myself as i wrote mine the other night, one more thing out of the way. I just put in it the things that i would like, but im open to change if its in the best interest of the baby xxx

I'm open to change but I will not be having an epidural bcos my spine is a Lil messed up.

in my notes i have a birthing plan to fill in, it has questions and i put my prefrences in the box out of the options,

labour companions, who

monitoring baby's heartbeat, continous when

options for labour, pain relief, eat + drink, position kneel, squat, stand, sit, lie, in water, episiotomy, baby delivered on to you, do i want to look at the sex myself, partner cutting cord, how placenta dliverd and what to do with it.

progress in labour, why labour may be slow, can i help ie change positions, waters to be broken, a syntocinon drip.

presence of students yes or no

after the birth, breastfeed soon afte birth, spend time alone with baby in delivery room, do you wish baby to have vit k,

induction

assisted delivery, forceps ventous

do you have any religous beliefs which effect your careorcare of baby when born

i have never written a birth plan before, but these new notes are really helpful, i hope i have helpes a bit and not just confused you more

Thank you so much that has made it so much easier :)
