I have a huge pelvis though and big feet, so they just sorta fall out :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:...

How do the big feet help :?

2 separate mw said I was going to have a biggun, at one of my last appointments she was feeling the head and said "oooh, this baby has a big head"  . Not what you want to hear when pregnant, as it it turned out she was only 7lb and quite petite so they were totally wrong  . I think they were feeling her the other way up as she was back to back and they didn't know.

I can see how that comment was a bit obscurre... appently big feet mean big hips means easy birth for big babies.. :rotfl:

hey hun..

christopher was very big 10lbs 14.50z so just shy off 11lbr   but it wasnt realised until he was on the scales. i also had to deliver naturaly with just gas and air as i had veryyyy low iron/platlets so was not allowed diamrphine/epidoodle.

i had to have an episotomy and a good few stitches b ut it honestly wasnt to bad sounds worse than it is i think

Hey there, my Ted was 9lb 4oz but he didn't seem that big once born as he is very tall (my oh is 6'4 too!) and i'm 5'10.
He was born emergency c-sec but i think it was more to do with him being in distress than size... if its any consolation i used to joke on here when i was preggers about the size of him...he was 6lb from the growth scan when i was 30 weeks...can you imagine how much i was panicking....following the growth chart he should have been 11lb + but they do slow down later in pregnancy.
You'll be fine, like Jen said, big babies are cuddly...mind you all babies are cuddly!!!

heya i wouldnt worry hun, heres no rule that big babies cause any more trouble or pain than little ones FLo was 10lb 4 and although i was induced, bit of gas n air later, that and a few hours n she was here with no tear or episiotomy or anything ! every babys different, you just dont know how big there going to be until they get here

Jacob was in the 95th and 98th percentiles for length, weight and head diameter! First of all, my midwives and a consultant OB/GYN thought he would be average or small, so they have no idea what they are talking about half of the time. Second, it was hard, but I had a drug-free birth and all drug-free births are hard.

And most importantly, I had no drugs and pushed for 6 or 7 hours (I was at home for most of it), but I still did it, and felt great. But in the hospital, there were women with TINY babies who needed forceps, episiotomies, epidurals... It all depends on your body and your attitude. I am sure that if I was in the hospital they would have pushed intervention on to me before I got to 6 hours, but since I was at home and Jacob's heartrate was perfect, I didn't get that.

omg im so glad you posted this!!

because my mw found a strong heartbeat at 10 weeks she said i've got a massive baby, but niether of the sonographers have said anything about her being big, i was 8lb4 and my sis was 8lb2 so im guessing 8lb3 for my LO

I was 7lbs 9oz and my husband was 5lbs 5ozs so I really don't know where I got my 10-4 baby! My cousin had twins that were over 6 pounds each, though, so maybe it comes from that side of the family!

Try not to worry hun, my fundal height was measuring a few weeks too small towards the end of my pregnancy, but baby came out at 9lbs 2oz so I really don't think they can tell!!!
He is a very long baby though and the newborn sleepsuits were too short for him lengthwise, had to send folk out for 0-3 months ones which are the perfect fit lengthwise! Will be in the 3-6months before he's a month old at this rate! OH is 6'3" so you might be in for a long baba too

My hubby is 6'4" as well so I was expecting big babies but they all looked titchy when they were born lol

aiden was 9lb 8oz and 60cm long, the only reason i was pushing for so long was bc he couldn't decend properly bc i had to stay lying on the bed. (blood pressure.)

everyone says - wow, was that not painful, eh yeah, but not anymore than labour itself  the whole things a bit sore really :rotfl:

my little bro was 10lb 3oz and mum said she didn't realise when pushing either :D xx

hiya,
Rudy was 9lb 8oz born. I spent a grand total of 3 hours in the hospital before he was born, pushed for 45mins and had a little 1st degree tear that the middy give me the option of stitching or not. I got it stiched because she said it would be prettier this way! :rotfl:

Also, the middys aren't very reliable when guessing the weight. I was expected to have a small to average size baby!
