Big Babies

Isla was 8lb 12 and i had no pain relief and only a tiny tear, size makes no difference to the labour its pot luck.

I was told my baby was tiny 5-6lb and she was 8lb12 a week early. Likewise they can say a baby is large when it is actually tiny, they just dont know plus you have ages yet for bubs to slow down or speed up.

PS Tearing is nothing at the time , you don't even feel it as the contractions take care of that! Its nothing so dont worry yourself over it, i spent ages fretting and its not all that bad when you have the most perfect little baby in your arms. Its like someone stealing your cookie then giving you a whole box of cookies plus a choccie bar.

nathan was 10lb 3oz- labour officially was 12 hours back to back, its was the pushing i found excruciating it took 1hr 44 mins he had "sticky shoulders" i had 2nd degree tear and my right labia fell off- the stitched it back on.
i had gas and air.
i was booked for home but had to transfer in for meconium. my main concern for this baby was that i would get some resistance about booking for home. my midwife has said that if i am measuring abnormally big for my dates then she would recommend a growth scan but they wont do it as a routine thing. i never measured big with nathan so i dont think ill be having a growth scan. she said that i managed to deliver nathan ok so she said they would probably let me go a couple of pound bigger for a natural delivery without talking about induction and c sections.

hiya

Alyssa was 8lb 8oz when she was born all i had was gas and air and was pushing for 27 mins (total was 2hrs 27mins) i has no tares nothing i was just glad to get her out

Also at 30 week i had a very small bump and the MW thought she would be a small baby lol shows what they know :rotfl:

good luck hun

Towards the end of my pregnancy i was so frightened because at 36 weeks the baby was supposedly already 7lb12oz according to scan so i was expecting when induced at 39 weeks to have a 8/9lb+ .... and at the event she was 7lb5oz a very healthy weight.

Exactly the same happened to me - i had ben told to brace myself for a 10 pounder! In the end she was 8lb 5oz.
I should also add that the labour was fine and not as bad as i had been led to believe it would be! I had a 2nd degreee tear which i hardly felt afterwards.

Ryan was 8lb 7oz and everything went fine :) no tearing or episotomy or anything bad.

Jakob was 8.1 and i didnt cut or anything, apparently bigger babies come out easier,....the labour was fairly straight forward albeit long :) x

I don't see 8lb as big personally, Isaac was 8lb 2oz and unfortunately ended in a forceps and episiotimy delivery though I don't put that down to his weight at all. All LO's and Mummy's are different, some say bigger is better, so stay positive and relaxed and very best wishes

mine werent far off. 7 13-15lb.

we got told one weight and they wrote down anotehr but tehn they might be right actually. thinking about it i remember saying now that shes 15lb lighter than me when she was born.

i tore but was my fault. hosp tried to avoid it but i just so wanted ehr out and she wanted out and i didnt contract that i tore cause i was pushing with no contractions. jsut wanted to meet her and get her out lol. she been in there 8days too long already :D the tear just feels like burning feeling its not to bad :)
