Hello all.

I only posted the other day that my period was late (with symptoms) but a test was negative.

Couldn't hold it out any longer and bought one today, prepared for the negative, and was astounded to have an almost immediate pink line.

My concern is that i have had brown discharge the past 3 mornings, would you say this is normal/implantation possibly?

I did spot in the early weeks with my first and was given the all clear with an ultrasound.

The soonest appointment with the doctors is on Wednesday afternoon, should I push for sooner?

Thanks

D x

If you had spotting with your first it seems quite likely it's the same happening this time. Some women get an irritated cervix in pregnancy for example or it could be implantation bleeding. Of course blood is always a worry but it is quite common to get spotting and for everything to be fine. Going to the doctors can't hurt but honestly there isn't much they can do early on so waiting until Wed should be fine. At 6 weeks they might give you a scan if you are getting spotting. Before that the only thing they can do is check that your hcg is raising, which can say there is a problem or that things seem to be going fine, but lots of doctors will just tell you to wait a week or two. If you have a history of MC it can be good to get your pregnancy on record as soon as possible so that if you do suffer a loss it can help you qualify for extra testing. Usually the doctor doesn't really do much, just refer you for your MW appointment and tell you lot take folic acid etc.
