OH and I are talking about our second (yes already!)

I've decided I want another section.

I was wondering how starting bfing works when your body hasn't started to go into labour? Would I struggle?

I hear it is harder BUT like most things I think it is probalby different for each person.

My waters went natural, but then had to be induced and then ended up in emergency section and it still took 5 days for my milk to come in! It wasn't helped that LO was tongue tied and couldn't latch proper, but pumped helped bring it in.

I think the main thing is lots of skin to skin to stimulate your body.

I'm sure there are other mums who have experience of elective sections that can offer great advice though xxx

I had an elective section and had no troublebf. I think if you do they inject you with something to bring your milk in

I had an injection after my emergency section and bf for 14 months with no problems xxx

I was able to bf in recovery straight after a section

I did not bf but I gave the first feed after a elective section but after that she did not take from me and kept pulling away. When i tried to express nothing came out. My milk came in on day 3 and then started leaking but only one side.

I was told there will be no problem, just can take a bit longer for milk to come in fully.

I was induced and didn't go into labour at all so had an emergency section. My milk didn't come in and he wouldn't latch. When I got home 4 days later I tried pumping and milk started to come in a bit (still couldn't get him to latch), so I think you'll be ok.

I've had both emergency and elective and had trouble with neither. I found everything in general a lot easier after the elective.
