My friend is breastfeeding her 16 week old son. But she is really struggling and I have no advice for her...
Her LO has always been a big boy. Last time he was weighted at 13 weeks he was nearly 16lbs. He has been a cluster feeder since day 1. Only lasting 2-3 hours. He doesn't settle for anyone but her. During the night he feeds every 2 hours, he only latches on then falls asleep. She lays him in his crib and he's crying again. So it's a vicious cycle. She's been co sleeping just to get sleep. But he's still up every 2 hours. She tried giving him a bottle at night, he would take 7oz and still cry for the breast when he's finished. She's given him a dummy but he still only lasts 2 hours. It's been going on for a while now, and she's really down about it. Saying she just dreads bedtime
she spoke to the HV who suggested more bottle feeds and trying weaning at 17 weeks. But he refuses a bottle during the day. Gets himself all worked up, so she has to BF. to calm him down. The HV seemed a bit useless....
Any tips anyone?!?xxx
