Best ovulating kits to use??

Hey ladies x can any of u help a beginner to ovulating kits please? I know my dates "roughly" but wanted to give these kits a try, I've read a few of you use them but I don't really know much about them?
When do u use them?
How often?
Any brands better than others?
Wee wee or saliva?
Are they accurate?
Where's best to get then from?

I'm new to this as well. Found out yesterday sis in law is 14wks pg and i didn't have a clue she is TTC. I'm after getting OV test kit on amazon. Had been trying to this au naturell, but starting to get frustrated so thought i'd give the OV test kits a try.

I use the internet cheapies (amazon sell them but other girls get them off ebay and other places) - 30 sticks for about 5-6 quid. I have a 28-29 day cycle and start using them at cycle day 10-11ish (some ladies start earlier if shorter cycle or suspect ov earlier). In the last 3 cycles I have had positives for 2 days on CD15 and CD16 and assume this means ov around cd16-17. DH and I really go for it when i get the first positive.

They are pee sticks so every eve when i get home from work i pee in the cup and test - usually a bit dehydrated by then anyway which is good. You mustn't use morning pee as it doesn't show then.

Mine have been pretty consistent but some ladies on here don't like these sticks as they can be a bit iffy, particularly if you have something like polycystic ovaries. The CB monitors seem better but are more expensive - they just tell you your fertile days without having to try and judge lines.

Some people have poas twice a day to catch the rise - it can be really tricky! If you are first time round to it, suggest start cd8 and do it until you get a positive. it can feel like its never coming sometimes!!

Positive is when the line is as dark or darker than the control, you sometimes see a fainter line on other days but this is negative. I'm fairly lucky as really don't get any line until ov then a really dark one so easy to tell. Others get more difficult to interpret results, hence the popularity of the clear blue which takes that away - you just get an answer one way or the other.

well ive only just come off the pill, so i really dont know what my cycle will be like. plus i stopped my pill mid way through a pack so i could be really messed up. and i never had periods inbetween as i used to double up the packs, so sometimes wouldnt have a period for a couple of months.

but last pill i took was mon 22nd, which was a week into a new pack.... then bled from 25th-30th (yday)..... so im assuming from that that my day 8 is tomorrow?

on my phone app it says my fertile days are 3rd-9th...but thats just going by my bleed ive just had.

im going by this for now as i have nothing else.....

Days are a bit more difficult to work out when you come off the pill. Normally yes you would be cycle day 8 if it was a natural period, but when you stop the pill you can ovulate anytime after 7 days of stopping it. Best thing to do is try and BD every other day until you get a natural period, the start opks after that.

With some real luck you might catch first month and never have a period!! I started doing HPTs when i got to 4 weeks with no period after stopping microgynon but sadly period started after 33 days.

Can someone tell me what cd means ? Is it the number of days since AF started eg cd8 would be 8 days after first day of AF?

well as soon as i came off the pill we BD on the tues n wed...then i came on so that was on hold but i managed to get some more in on sunday then also today.... so im hoping this will help me along a bit

i did notice extra sticky stuff down there about 2wks ago..... but i was still on my pill then so would it all change now?? so hard to guess... just gona have to wait n see what happens this month arent i? then i should be able to judge better! i wana get preg NOW tho so i dont want to even think about my next period! haha x yes this is such an awful long nervous time..... eeeeek!!!!
