We've been fine up until about 3 or so weeks ago but recently Becky has started bringing back more of her milk (SMA gold). She's been putting on weight fine but going to get her weighed tomorrow (been 3 weeks since last weigh-in) and see what's happening.

I'm sure it's not just possetting - she's being sick (not forcefully and not a great amount, just mouthfuls) up to 3 hours after a feed. She doesn't seem too bothered about it but it's getting to the stage where she's needing a change of clothes a couple of times a day. Having been around a friend's baby on Monday it made us realise just how much she's being sick!

Going to speak to the HV to see if moving her onto something different would help, am a bit reluctant to move her onto SMA white because of problems it caused me when I was a baby but if it helps...

Any advice?

Phoebe is often sick several hours after a feed. Often when we lay her down, or sit her up.

I think some babies are just more sicky.

But if wanted to try another milk - c&g comfort or Apatmil Easy digest would prob be your best bet, as they are supposed to be easier on the tum.

Has she started dribbling yet? lol, that combined with the sick... I give up half the time :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks.

Yes, she's dribbling too, great, innit? Can't put her near my face or my nose gets eaten and covered in slobbers :rotfl:

Same as Laracomps said...

Tho SMA do a 'Stay Down' milk too... I think its a bit harder to get hold of, you may have to get a chemist to order it in. If you wanted to stick with SMA. If not, I use C&G Comfort and LO seems to love it.

You can get the SMA stay down one in my Boots - so if you wanted to give it a try you could have a look in there?

Making them up is more of a pain in the butt - the water has to be quite hot for it to thicken and dissolve properly & no more ready made milk!

I am too scared to wean Phoebe off it yet, but am looking fwd to the day when I can!

I switched Evie from SMA Gold to SMA White and it's worked a treat. She was bringing up A LOT before- the HV thought she might have reflux as she bought back about 3oz of milk from every bottle.

We switched to SMA White and it's a bit thicker so she drinks it slower and holds it down better.

Haven't had any problems- I was scared to change her milk before as I didn't want a screaming baby for days on end! Her poo is a bit firmer but other than that she's been much more settled and isn't drenching as many muslins! :rotfl:

HV wasn't too worried as she's put on weight (though more slowly than before, is now about 60th centile) and is happy in general. She said she can't recommend a particular brand of milk as they're not allowed to?! She said we'd give it a week and I could either try a different feed (she suggested comfort/staydown foods, no particular brand) or wait until next week and possibly think about infant gaviscon. Went into town and got some SMA staydown to try so here's hoping! It's not too much more expensive either.

Thanks for the advice all!

OK, need help! So far we've wasted 2 bottles of the SMA staydown because she can't get any out. She is a very lazy feeder and until we moved her to a No. 2 teat on the tommee tippee bottles she was falling asleep after a couple of oz. Tried for half an hour with the No 2 teat and she gave up trying to suck. Also tried the variflow (cross cut teat) and it was exactly the same. Says on the tin it's no thicker but it definitely is!

Would the Dr Brown bottles be any better? I have a couple of them with the number 2 teats on but don't want to keep wasting the formula.

i use C&G comfort... the size 2 is fine for that... and that stuffs thick.. sticks to bottle etc.

i dont know what to suggest... size 3 mabey?? you sure theres nothing blocking the hole, i had a lump in the milk block the hole once.
