I am going to invest in some when I get paid next week as want to start applying early :D

what are the best ones to buy? many thanks

Personally I havent used any...........and dont have a single stretch mark!

I have read numerous times that if you are going to get them, NO creams will prevent them!

I did invest in some Bio Oil, but just always forgot to apply it :D

Thanks EllieBelle, that great that you never got any! Gives me hope :D

You can't prevent them - you'll either get them or you won't - but you can minimise them. Bio Oil and cocoa butter have been recommended to me by friends who've had babies, and I've opted for cocoa butter, which is working so far, but I am only 12 weeks gone!

with my 1st pregnancy i used vaseline intensive care and luckily i didnt get any weather it was the cream or not i dont know this time around im using coco butter for stretch marks .......but i guess if you get them you get them

From what I have heard - as the other girls have said - if you are going to get them, you are going to get them and no amount of cream is going to change that (although the more supple your skin is i.e. moisturised the less significant they are likely to be - or so I have heard). I think you have a genetic predisposition to either get them or not get them.

This is Gok's product review for stretch mark creams. Worth noting though that the best one still only got 48/100!

Bio Oil is supposed to be good for prevention, or if you leave it too late, good for reducing their appearance :D

Bio-oil is supposed to be the best thing... like others have said I don't think you can prevent them appearing but it will minimise them and help them to fade. But if, like me, you're short on cash cocoa butter is a cheaper alternative that (HOPEFULLY!!!) will work just as well.

I use bio oil. I've got stretchmarks from previous weight gain so I'm hoping I'll just utilise tose and not get any new ones saying as my belly was pregnant size once before!

Ive heard good things about Bio Oil and also Palmers Cocoa Butter.

I tried loads of different creams last time and bio oil but still got them. I thought I got away with it but when I got to 38 weeks I noticed that a few had started to appear on the bottom of my bump :( This time I am using olive oil OH's mum swears by it doesn't smell great but once rubbed in properly it leaves skin lovely and soft and it has even improved the appearance and texture of my stretchmarks I already had xxx

I'm only 8w so not showing but invested in some bio oil the other day. I hadn't done any research - just stood in boots reading all the labels and the bio oil sounded best.

Although it was quite pricey. The bottle I bought isn't very big and cost about £8. The fact that you're supposed to use it twice a day means I think it'll run out within a couple of weeks. It's a nice texture (oil not cream), isn't greasy and is easily absorbed. I use it on my tummy and boobs.

I am using bio oil and virgin vie honey and almond body milk because I prefer the smell of that

i've got palmers cocoa butter, because it was on offer

personally ... im not sure how any of the anti celluite/firming creams actually work ie, if you massage any moisturiser into your skin for 5 mins a day its going to have a positive impact on circulation and keep your skin soft n less likely to get stretch marks etc

am i making sense?

They did firming creams on How To Look Good Naked the other week, and put in E45 cream as a red herring for the blind testing. It didn't score much different to the others!

iv been useing Bio oil but you are supposed to put it on 3 times a day from 1st tri till the baby is born and it was £9 for 60ml. So its expencive but iv heard it works?

Yes, bio oil is expensive but you don't need to use that much...

I used a few different ones by Palmers and dont have a single stretch mark and now 40+2 but I dont put it down to the cream - just elastic skin! I put all kinds of lovely smelling stuff on now - more as a treat than anything else!
