Sorry this has taken sooo long
Right on the 31st July I was having regular contractions but they were 6 mins apart. Then at midnight they stopped. They restarted early hours of morning they restarted at 15mins apart then gradually got closer together by 6am I rang triage at labour ward. They said 4mins apart with first baby still too early ring in two hrs I rang in two hrs still pain using tens and ball at home and baths but wanted more than that every 2-3 mins contractions....ok to go up for assessment. Went up and everything stopped when I got there I could of cried. I looked like I'd made it up thankfully they were lovely and put me on a trace anyway to check us out. Some contracts but nothing like pain of ones at home. She did an internal and said Pugh well u are 2cm so are in labour just not established go home rest and maybe will see you later. So back home we went then of course all started again tho irregular and painful. By 1930 I was ready to go back in they said it was up to me. But was so much pain I really felt I needed to so up we went was 3cm but they had no beds so offered choice of walk around hosp for a few hrs waiting for beds or go home and come back when more pain. But if went home wud loose place on list for bed. Didn't know what to do put back on trace was crying out and breathing thru contractions but tens no longer helping. They left me on trace till 9pm as not happy with baby heart rate.... Then decided it was dropping far too much and even though only 3cm wheeled rushed to delivery suite. About 15ppl in room rushing to jab needles in my arms etc and hook me to trace no hb on trace more panic decided to break my waters and do clip as check to do so they say errr 3cm this one is a good 6cm now!!! I'm like so please can I get gas and air now please?!!! They finally obliged such good stuff. Found hb on clip no problem and now on back on. Bed attatched to stuff so can't dovall my positons etc then they decided stable n left hubby and me (ps hospital bags still in car I'm now half naked with a hospital gown on) so then I am suddenly in a lot of pain I am sick and wet myself v undignified I ask for pethadine so tom calls mw who says no dear u aren't that far along. Then checks says 8 cm ok actually u can have pethadine so she goes to authorise it.by time she comes back I'm sayin I'm ready to push no dear I get again am given pethadine whichhelps and say baby ready to push. Tom calls them in again tto check....they look unconvinced but do check me n say oh you are fully dilated u can push! So off we go Ben arrives weeing on the world while pushing the hb drops they call for forceps and neo natal and registrar...I panicw says two more big pushes and u can hav baby here before they get back with forceps episotomy done and Ben arrives 8lb 2 56 cm on 1st Aug 2350 had stitches and tearing too but he is worth it
