Hey :)

This hasn't happened yet but the 3 month review for clomid is next month, the 3rd cycle will be 100mg as 50mg seemed to work the first time but not the 2nd.

The fertility place is seeing how the 100mg goes with 21 day bloods but said depending on the result they may decide not to bother with it any more and refer us back to the GP for injections (that's all they said, hormone injections I assume)

Seems strange to me for a fertility clinic to refer a patient back to a GP after trying one thing.. Or is that normal?

Kind of feels like they're giving up on us.

I feel like it would be silly not to try at least the usual 6 month on clomid specially as she seems to have ovulated the first time and had a 28 day cycle.

It's all getting a bit too much to be honest, sick of the stress of it all but can't give it up and know it almost certainly won't happen without medical help!

Seems odd to me too. Also seems odd they are considering stopping clomid at 100mg, you can go up to 150 and if no ovulation on that there are other drugs to try (including injectables although these are not offered by my clinic so I know nothing about them at all).

Can you request follicle tracking scans to check the clomid is working and that the dose is correct? If your clinic won't then you can get the privately, they cost £180 at my nearest place for a whole cycle of scans, that will also mean you go for bloods on the correct day, day 21 isn't right for everyone and will give misleading results if not done 8 days after ovulation.

Our clinic also offer counselling, if you are both feeling stressed ask to see someone.

Thanks so much for that!

I'll raise all you've said at the next appointment, next month.

No mention of follicle tracking but I'll bring it up, feel a bit defeated by it all at the moment.. feels like they've given up very early on!

Little update, going back CD12 so they can do a scan to check ovaries for ovulation.. is that follicle tracking? Hopefully they will be able to confirm the 100mg is resulting on ovulation :)

Yes sounds like it is, I started scans around that day (depends on your shortest recorded cycle as to when you start) and then had to go back every few days until the egg released, which for me was between CD17 and CD24 each time. Good luck!

Ah great thanks! It's exciting I feel like we are getting somewhere now :D

Had a scan today, 100mg seems to have done the trick as there was an egg ready to be released apparently.. I'm terrible with the proper medical terms I know lol! She will be on clomid at least a further 3 times if needed as it seems to be working so fingers crossed!
